USRallycross should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Result History

Hi, I am on a little bit of a wild goose chase. I bought a Mk1 Escort from a Mr Wadland in Cornwall in 2017 and brought it over to the US. The MSA log book is from 2009 and it did have some sprint championship logos when it came over.

The shell is way to nice to have been on gravel stages so pretty sure it only did sprints, maybe asphalt rallies.

I would like to search results to see what, if any, competition history the car had. The owner sadly died and his brother was selling and didn't know much and of course not like we could grab a tea or a pint and chat.

Any pointers to results online from 2009 through say 2016 would be most appreciated.

Which sprint championships do the logos refer to?
Also are there any old scrutineering labels in the car, if so can you give the events and dates, you may find people here who competed in the same events and have kept results sheets. I doubt there's many results online, AFAIK all the online stuff is for circuit racing.

I did find a kevin Wadland on the entry list for the Newquay Auto Club Sprint at St. Eval on August 29th 2010, he was the only starter in the over 1600cc Rally Car Class.

Could be worth contacting Newquay Auto Club.

I actually found a video of a Kevin Wadland in a Ford Escort at Castle Speed Hillclimb July 2014
https://youtu.be/pZggH2WYcWE

Also at Tregrehan Speed Hillclimb October 2014 (Events there are run by Truro DMC. A Website link for them: https://www.trurodmc.co.uk/. Might be worth an email for info

The Tregrehan video of Kevin https://youtu.be/nSrw7ywJaiU

Plus another I found of Kevin on a qualifying run at Werrington Park Hillclimb,(Launceston, Cornwall) May 2014.

Edit: I did find reference to Kevin rallying in the Prima Motorsport Smeatharpe Stages 2013 driving a Ford Escort with a co-driver by the name of Andrew Clayton. 23rd on this results sheet.

Found the results sheet for this event (link follows)
It might be worth contacting either the Plymouth Motor Club who organised the event. https://plymouthmotorclub.co.uk/

Also the HSA (Hillclimb and Sprint Association) where I found this results sheet

Link to results sheet I mentioned: Kevin is in Class D4 #73

Just realised I did not mention that the reference in my previous post to Kevin in the 2008 Three Counties Stages Rally in an Escort Mk 11 reg # SYX 647S he was actually listed as a Co-Driver.

Saw your post on one of the FB pages the other day but wasn't able to respond. I remember doing quite a few sprint/hillclimb events with that car, mostly in Cornwall. For a lot of them you'd probably be able to find something listed on https://www.swtimekeeping.co.uk/

Not a lot of gravel rallies in the SW so quite likely it stuck to things like the Tour Of Cornwall and various single venue events like Smeatharpe, Portreath or Bovington.
