"additional dates" Are these for practice, none counting, or proper days out? |

Shed loads of trouble
The 'additional' sprint dates are for information.
They are not part of the championship and are not practice days, although judging by your last performance you need it!!!!!!! What's this I have heard on the grapevine about a Teaboy sharing the Dellaria in 2005? Will he fit? I'll be posting more sprint dates on this thread which like the additional dates previously posted will NOT be part of the British Sprint Championship |

Loads of shed trouble
That's not kind just before Christmas, your present's just hit the bin.
Don't know about any rumours, "your sauce could be out of date" check the lid. What is for sure is Teammegashed & associates will be in attendance in various forms throughout 2005. What/where is Bishopscourt |

Bishopscourt Directions
Shed old buddy - lorst yer sense of humour? Bah Humbug!
Let's start with the obvious - Bishopscourt is in Northern Ireland If you head South from Kirkistown you end at at Portaferry. You cross over on the ferry to Strangford and then it is about two/three miles further South. There is a possibility that we will be doing Bishopscourt on the Friday and Kirkistown on the Sunday (possible noise issues on Sunday with the local church at Bishopscourt currently under review). Any road up! Best wishes to you and Mrs Shed for the festive season. Keep polishing the Dellaria! |

Championship Sponsor
SBD Motorsport have stepped in and are the new sponsors of the 2005 British Sprint Championship.
Steve Broughton, the Managing Director of SBD Motorsport, said 'it is the ideal vehicle for the company to increase its profile especially with the MSA License Holders'. Championship Co-ordinator Paul Parker is delighted that the financial worries are now lifted saying 'this means we can now reduce the Registration Fee which had had to go up when we lost our previous sponsor'. It is hoped the dates can be finalised within the next few days. There will be changes from the previously mentioned list as the Lydden round has been cancelled by the organisers. The championship will be contested over 13 rounds. |

SatNav for Mr Shed?
I understand from the TEABOY that there is a possibility of fitting Sat Nav to the Del Lara so Mr Shed can find his way back to the track!
I do like DKs suggestion though. Shed old buddy, your reputation goes before you, somewhat like your cars! |

So is the new (Nat A permit) Snetterton sprint a replacement for Lydden Hill in the championship or not?

Snetterton
I couldn't possibly say at this point in time.
Sorry but I had to switch into Blair speak for this one. If you work on the assumption that the British Sprint Championship would dearly love to be at Snetterton this year and that they are working flat out to make it happen. There will be a Press release shortly until then........ |

Change is GOOD!
2005 SBD Motorsport British Sprint Championship Regulation Changes
The Loyalty Points Scheme is being modified this year as the scheme as operated in 2004 was thought to be too generous in its award of points. Thus for 2005 it is as follows: a) 1 point will be awarded for the first 9 events in which a competitor commences a practice run. b) 2 points will be awarded for all remaining events in which a competitor commences a practice run. A New Points Scheme is being introduced which is based on 'CHAMPIONSHIP RECORDS'. The championship organisers (the BMSA) have prepared and published a set of Championship Record Times for all Categories at each venue. A competitor will get an additional point if they break the Championship Record for their Category in the Top Twelve Run-Off. This scheme will only operate at rounds where the venue has recently held a championship round. Thus Snetterton and Bishopscourt will not be elligible rounds for these points in 2005. Continuing alongside the Championship is the Foundation Cup for the up and coming drivers. Like Mr Shed! It is only open to competitors who have NOT previously finished in the Top Twelve (Top Ten to 2003). It also precludes any driver of an Over Two Litre Racing or Sports Libre Car. Points are awarded based on the Top Twleve qualifying times of eligible drivers. 2005 SBD Motorsport British Sprint Championship Category Changes The Category Awards have been expanded to now cover the following: Modified Production Cars; Sports Libre Cars; Kent Engined FF1600 - New for 2005; Up to 1100cc Racing Cars; 1100 to 1600cc Racing Cars; 1600 to 2000cc Racing Cars - New for 2005; and Over 2000cc Racing Cars - New for 2005. The Formula Ford Category has been included in response to demand from the many competitors up and down the country and is effectively a National FF1600 Sprint Championship The 1600 to 2000cc Racing car Category has been introduced because of the increasing number of drivers who are no longer elligible for the Foundation Cup. Finally the Over 2000cc Racing Car Category has been included in the Category awards to ensure all classes are treated equally. Several Category Sponsors have been signed up for the 2005 season, the line-up is as follows: Connaught Competition Engines - Over 2000cc Racing Car Category Kent Cams - 1600 to 2000cc Racing Car Category Tramway Forge - 1100 to 1600cc Racing Car Category Quantum Cars - Modified Production Car Category Chelston Motorhomes - Sports Libre Category Please note that there are still two categories without sponsors - the 1100 Racing Cars and the FF1600 Racing Cars. For more information or a copy of the Regs contact Championship Co-ordinator Paul Parker by phoning 01275-843478 or emailing britishsprint@paulparker.f9.co.uk Full details can also be found on the BMSA website at www.britishsprint.org |

Steve
This could sound like a complaint and IT IS NOT. I think you have done a great job with all the data. Had a look at the records list on the site. When you next have some time to idle away it would be nice to know who holds them. AB |

Force V6 - Tony Eyles
Tony Eyles tested his new Force V6 yesterday @ llandow and came away very impressed with his new toy
It should make an interesting change in the championship to see how a 2.5ltr does against the V8's Dave |

Championship Records
Having checked my files and also having rung Paul Parker I have to report that neither of us retained the data linking the times to who set them!
The Category Records were taken from the results of CHAMPIONSHIP meetings over the past four to five years. The figures in blue have been estimated due to there being no representative time for that Category. Because there have been NO representative sprints at Snetterton or Bishopscourt we are suspending the Championship Record Points Schemes at those venues. The same will apply at any new venues or where an existing venues changes the layout. |

Registrations Roll In
Currently we have 19 registered contender for the British Sprint Championship including 2 drivers of Formula Fords who will be contesting the new category for such cars and I have no doubt at some venues challenging for a run-off slot!

Round 1 Croft
What a cracking meeting!
The Top Twelve kept everyone on edge with four drivers leading within the space of 15 minutes. Top Twelve Run off: 1 Andrew Platt (2.0 Dallara-Opel F397) 74.47; 2 Tony Wiltshire (2.0 Ralt-Peugeot RT36) 75.07; 3 Stewart Robb (3.5 Pilbeam-DFR MP58) 75.62; 4 Roy Dawson (1.3 DJ Firehawk-Suzuki) 75.71; 5 Terry Holmes (2.0 Reynard-Cosworth SF84) 76.75; 6 Steve Miles (2.0 Van Diemen-Ford RF96) 80.29; 7 John Chacksfield (1.1 OMS-Kawasaki 2000M) 80.66; 8 Graham Porrett (2.0 Reynard-Cosworth SF84) 80.99; 9 Simon Ashby (2.0 Reynard-Millington 883) 80.99; 10 John Sampson (5.0 Quantum Xtreme) 82.18; 11 Martin Dowling (3.5 Reynard-Judd 88D) 83.77; Steve Broughton (1.3 OMS-Suzuki CF04) DNS - snapped chain. Ther were just two all new cars present. Steve Broughton in the CF04 he shares with Kim Kingham and Ian Scott with the latest of his Megapins. Several cars had had a lot of work done on them over the close season: Martin Dowling and John PAyne had transplanted the Judd engine from John's SPA into Martin's Reynard. Steve Miles had a new aeropackage that seemed to be a little too effecient as it grounded under braking. The Howgate/Woffenden Ralt had had its K Series engine given the QED treatment. John Chacksfield had had his 1100 OMS repainted! The supporting programme provide the crowd with some entertainment with the Michelin Porsches, Westfield Speed and Midland Speed contestants starring. The next round in the championship is at Snetterton on the 7th May. |

Seconds out Round 2!
The Motorsport Vision Sprint at Snetterton saw Round 2 of the SBD Motorsport British Sprint Championship. The weather in the morning was great but as the cars were getting ready for the second runs the heavens opened. It rained, hailed and even sleeted! It was also VERY cold! The qualification was therefore all down to the first timed run and we had a bit of a topsy-turvey group in the run-off.
Steve Broughton swept through from sevnth qualification slot to snatch the win as the rain once again swept in between the two runs. Andrew Platt managed to hold onto second and consolidate his championship lead whilst Terry Holmes, who had qualified 11th took a wonderful third. Tony Wiltshire, he of the designer wellies, was fourth. Meanwhile Roger Kilty in his EuroBoss Reynard had looked like an odds on favourite until a quick 360 at Sear dropped him to seventh. RESULTS: Rd 2 SBD Motorsport British Sprint Championship 1 Steve Broughton (1.3 OMS-Suzuki CF04) 73.54s; 2 Andrew Platt (2.0 Dallara-Vauxhall F397) 74.46s; 3 Terry Holmes (2.0 Reynard-Ford SF84) 75.49s; 4 Tony Wiltshire (2.0 Ralt-Peugeot RT34) 76.16s; 5 Simon Ashby (2.0 Reynard-Millington 883) 79.38s; 6 Kevin Lealan (2.0 Formula Opel Lotus) 79.43s; 7 Roger Kilty (3.0 Reynard-Cosworth 93D) 79.78s; 8 Martin Dowling (3.5 Reynard-Judd 88D) 80.06s; 9 David Sims (2.0 Ralt-Duratec RT33/34) 81.07s; 10 John Sampson (5.0 Quantum-Rover Xtreme) 81.99s; 11 Phil Lynch (2.0 Ralt-Alfa RT30) 82.33s; 12 John Payne (3.5 Reynard-Judd 88D) 82.35s. Champ Positions: 1 Andrew Platt 25pts; 2 Tony Wiltshire 22pts; 3 Terry Holmes 20pts; 4= Simon Ashby & Steve Broughton 14pts; 6= Roy Dawson & Stewart Robb 11pts etc. NEXT Round: 28/05/05 Knockhill |
