Everything is a tribute to LM in this livery. Blue like Matras were, green strip for Pescarolo and #72 is La Sarthe/Le Mans zip code. Already iconic before the start.

Had a look up - not just Pescarolo but very French as 1968 Alpine looked good with stripe - good you tube video on that year. Better looking car than Pescarolo’s t BBC at year.

So we’re the different coloured stripes (saw 3 Aloines lined up) just an easy identification method - like Gulf 917 variations?

72 class win would be fitting as race 50 years to the day of 50th anniversary victory by all French drivers (and car/team) of Pescarolo/Larousse. Later at CBW on the Friday I think.

there might not be any of the banned stuff but the windscreen will be covered in splatter insects so screenwash and wipers will be required

You're right obviously. My poor joke was about Pesca during the rainy night at LM '68. Wiper issues led his team mate Servoz-Gavin to go to bed!

I guess they couldn't afford proper wipers in 68? I feel Servoz-Gavin had the right idea!

Still a great entry for this year's event and the reserve cars would not detract from the entry if they were in it

No withdrawals from the main field.

Even on the reserve list not too many have pulled out this year. Risi were 3rd reserve and pulled theirs a while back. The only other one that's gone is Heart of Racing. I think they pulled theirs too but then ended up taking over the Dalla Lana/Northwest AMR WEC entry.

I see nothing that would prevent them from doing so. The maximum of cars allowed on a given homologated track is determined by the instances, préfecture de la Sarthe in this case. Different numbers depending on which type of cars and the race duration… This gives 64/73 cars for the race and 76/87 for the practices. Bearing in mind that LM is ACOland…

I generally don't remember reserves running at test days.

But there have been some additional test day entries such as LMP3 when the formula was launched.
