Zandbak should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
What's the difference between Marshal and Marshall?
Just wondering what the difference is between those two words.

I can answer this for you all!!!....

Marshall is not actually a word in its own right...... the 2 l's only comes into force when used in a plural manner.... i.e. marshalling....

Oooooohhhhhhh I knew that dictionary would come in useful one day!!.......

"Marshall" is for those who can't spell "Marshal" just the same as "Donnington" is for those who can't spell "Donington".

Somebody said to me that our URL www.marshals-vdhb.tk should be with two L's ........but it isn't

Zandbak, in England we use the word "Marshal" with on 'L' but I thought that in Belgium (and I think Germany?) you used "Marshall" with two 'L's? It's just a linguistic thing like licence and license, different language different spelling.

Actually not quite.

Licence is a noun meaning a certificate or a permit, license is a verb meaning to award a permit or to authorise something or someone.

Sorry, I'll go away and get a life now.

Now now Mr W who's got his pedantic hat on today then!! Actually I was thinking of License in the American context rather than in English, bad example perhaps. How about Tire/Tyre?

Over here in Ameri-kay, the two spellings of the m-word are listed as interchangeable. Marshal is the one we use for race workers.

Marshall is most often seen as a given name or surname. The double-l version is also often seen in older descriptions of lawkeepers - e.g. Marshall Dillon, but is now usually spelled only with one l.

I always thought Marshall was a american way of spelling marshal but true to Mrs Blackx`s post when used in the likes of marshalling it should be two L's. Anybody know Carol Vorderman`s phone no so we can ask someone brainy?????
