HELP! I have been slowly getting the archive of results together but currently face some frightening BLACK HOLES. There follows the worst cases currently causing me headaches:
29/03/70 Yeovilton Yeovil Motor Club - Who finished FIFTH in the run-off in a time of 76.39 seconds? 02/05/70 Greenham Common Jaguar Drivers Club - I have only the first two places for this one! What is worse I KNOW there were NINE finishers! 24/05/70 Woodvale Lancashire Automobile Club - I have Patsy Burt 1st; Richard Thwaites 2nd and Tony Harrison 3rd. However I have no times and have no indication of who came fourth. 28/06/70 Cadwell Park Notts SCC - again there were four finishers and I have the first three only! 02/08/70 Thruxton BARC (Surrey) - I know the finishing order but do not have a time for Mike Barker in third place. 20/09/70 Curborough Shenstone & DCC - All I have is that Bob Rose won! I have no time for Bob and have no idea who the remaining finishers were. 11/10/70 Moreton-in-Marsh North Cotswold Motor Club - I have the 1-2 (Bob Rose/Paul Pycroft) but no times and no other finishers? ??/??/70 Fairford Cheltenham Motor Club - Well were to start - I don't know the date of the event, I do know that Bob Rose won but haven't got his time. Finally did anyone else run in the top ten for Bob is the only one I have! 24/08/74 Cadwell Park organisers unknown - I have the finishers (1-6 only) but only the time for Dave Harris. 23/03/75 Longridge Longton & DMC - missing the times for third and fourth. 08/06/75 Curborough Midland AC - I have the 1-5 but no other runners. 07/09/75 Wroughton organisers unknown - I have the 1-4 but no times for any. Also suspect there should be more runners. That should do for the time being!!!!!! Any details on the above would be greatly appreciated. Database is on-line at www.britishsprint.com |

Part Two
![]() 1) In 1973 there was a driver running a Terrapin. All I have for his name is A.G.Turnock - this was off a programme. He drove a Terrapin Mk1 with BMC 1.3 engine. CAN YOU PROVIDE A CHRISTIAN NAME? 2) In 1975 I have Philip Anstruther driving a 2.0 March. That is all! I don't know the model number, chassis number or what engine it had in it!!! CAN YOU PROVIDE DETAILS? 3) In 1977 I ahve Dave Bishop driving a Brabham BT36X. Now is that the right type of Brabham? What make of engine was in it? Finally what capacity was the engine? 4) Also in 1977 I have Kevin Hodgkinson driving a 1.1 Chevron B17 - I have NO details of the type of engine. CAN YOU HELP? 5) Finally in 1977 I have listed Graham Patterson in a 1.6 Mallock U2. I have no details on the model of U2 or its engine. CAN YOU HELP? |

For sale in Autosport, sometime in 75 [don't have exact date] by Spencer Elton 'March 702 ex Amon and Peterson/Inglis/Morris/Anstruther'. With the Amon and Peterson refs this would be 702-1, recorded by AS as Geoff Inglis [AS 5.9.72 p. 47 ex Peterson], and the chassis number given in Motoring News, AS and F1R as Peterson/Amon in 1970. I came across a reference to Phillip Anstruther with a March 702 in 1974 in MN.
Hope this helps Chris |

The entry for Philip Anstruther in 1975 is a trifle strange
![]() In the 702 he had run for several seasons there was a 1.6 litre engine. I think it is a bit odd that for 1975 he was shown in the results as in a 2.0 litre March and that the 702 had been for sale! ![]() I have included the 702 chassis number in my records and the website will be updated shortly. Until confirmed as the 702 I will leave the 1975 entry as is ![]() |

TED - thanks for the chassis info.
![]() In the British Sprint archive the BT36X only makes one appearance. In 1977 it was driven by Dave Bishop. Would you know what engine was installed at that time? Was it still the 5.0 Repco? ![]() |

Run on the hills by Mike McDowel 1972-74, initially I suspect with an FVA and from 1973 with a Repco V8
Tony Brown (Repco V8) 1975-76 Chris Dowson (Repco V8) 1981-83 (and still had 1995) Auctioned by Brooks at Goodwood 1997 (Repco V8) Now I believe in the Ole Sommer museum in Sweden I’m sure Ted will be able to fill in some of the gaps |

Repco Unit
DAVE - the BT36X first appeared in 1972 with the 5.0 Repco 740 V8 fitted.

Quite happy to accept that
My brief notes had nothing alongside 1972, then the Repco for 1973 - I jumped to the wrong conclusion Apologies |

Dave, never assume! Least ways never admit to assuming!
![]() If you do venture back to the British Sprint website you may well notice the changes that are happening almost on a daily basis. This is in no small way thanks to the Ten Tenths patrons whose facinating threads are throwing up loads of additional data. ![]() |

As a result of the email I sent to Motor Sport which appears on the letters page in the February issue I have now had the FULL Results passed to me for the Yeovilton 1970 event. As this was the first round if the championship it does make things look a bit better!
The website is continuing to be updated with more and more chassis details. www.britishsprint.org If anyone can provide updates to any of the details please feel free to let me know. Without all the enthusiasts who have contributed to date the data would be in a sorry state. Thanks ![]() |

Just bumping this thread up the charts!
We are still having problems 'filling in the blanks' and would appreciate any help with results and chassis number details. Thanks. |

Thanks!
John, it was always going to be a long shot. I know of several people who were at these events but they are being particularly unhelpful for some reason.
A lot of competitors keep their own records and if issued with the full results would just extract their own details and bin them. The MSA are the main culprits as they sent hundreds of boxes full of results to the incinerators when they moved to their new premises! ![]() ![]() |
