Overtaking manouvre!MS's pass on Fisi
Did anyone else notice MS sideways over the kerb inside Fisi near the start of the race? It was into the long right at the top of the hill after the double left where JPM passed Fisi? Was very spectacular! Don't think ITV noticed it, shame. As usual the camera was on the leader in clear air rather than the action behind.

Mentioned here: http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74391
and a few other threads. It was great, although we only saw a glimpse. |

It really was spectaculair !
For a moment there I thought he would crash and burn. Olav Mol didn't see it also, but what else is new. Does'nt anyone have a short movie clip of it? |

Fisi had to do a super-yield to avoid an incident but in reality MS gave him no choice. A ballsy pass of the likes I'd like to see more often.

yeah brilliant move. the build up to the move was best with MS locking up going into the previous corner, then the next camera shot was Monty passing Fisi and then MS. although everyone did seem a little desparate at the start.

It was a pretty cool move. However I liked Ruben's pass on Button better. The in-car of him having to cerrect under braking was great stuff to watch.

I can't decide whether that move by MS on Fisi was a supreme show of skill and opportunity, or a stupid rash move which almost took them both out of the race...

After replaying the first 10 minutes or so of the race, I liked the fact that Fisi returned the favour after the SC exited. A nice clean overtake that MS could not defend. And after seeing the MS pass again, it was precarious; he surely would have been criiticized if it had failed and resulted in contact. Fisi did well in both cases.

MS's pass was a bit rash, but necessary. Race could have been more boring without it you know...

The on-board footage of that one was brilliant! Definitely one of the best clips of the year, that. |

Rubens has been the best overtaker in F1 for quite some time now. He has pulled of many races like these, Hockenheim 2000, Silverstone 2003 are some of the most prominent. If he sees a chance, he makes a pass stick and rarely messes up while always leaving room for his fellow racers.
