Lydden Festival of Motorsport - 9 Sept

Gilles if your in Kent come to Lydden Hill for an excellent days racing!

A mixture of Long Circuit racing featuring the heinz 57 that is the Dunlop Track and Race Car Saloon Championship and short oval racing featuring ministox, CAMSO V8's, RDC Hot rods and alsorts. We even have the 7.5 tonne trucks appearing. Cost is just £9 for a full days action. We also have the Radio Invicta Girls there handing out goodies.

That's another place that I haven't been to for quite a while, infact it was the last time that the gearbox karts had a British championship round there back around ten years a go.
Watching cars race there always looked strange to me as they looked very big and cumbersome compared to karts. Sounds like an interesting thought though Chezza and keeps me away from the M25, M1, traffic et al !

There will, in fact, be 36 races, so no chance of getting bored.

How many have you entered Rod? Are you out in the Camsos again? (or a truck this year?)

Tried hard to find a truck for me and David Oates, even Barry Lee was looking. Hopefully I will be racing a Pontiac V8 in the Camso races, as will John Cross in his Mercedes V8.

Quite!

I tend to remember it being run as the Festival of Motorsport in the past as well... Are we changing to a (Hairy) Hill Climb format for this year??!!......

Since there is such a large number of races it would be nice if someone who knows (IF anyone knows - surely they must by now?) could post a timetable somewhere? Keep checking Rods, Lyddens (yeah right!!), and the RDC websites but nowt.....

I have found the other thread on the event which has the link to the event poster that chezza posted:

http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...93#post1678793

This gives a rough schedule to the day's events.

Really looking forward to this one. I'll be there with my camera so I'll put the link up a couple of days afterwards.

I mean... trucks!!! Round Lydden! Marvellous.

I don't know I will beat up Asp in a mo or three and get him to change it.

Practice in the morning for the long circuit starts at 9am with racing from 10am. Once the long circuit racing has finished there will be a lunch break and then the oval stuff/trucks will start!

I guess was when thread was split (presume it was from start) but was quite amusing.

It makes me laugh when you refer to the long circuit. Surley the words long circuit and Lydden Hill can never be in the same sentence
