Pikes Peak - Contains Spoiler ****

Dario wins from Fernandez, Wheldon, Manning and Kanaan.

A hard-fought relatively clean race.

I think Rice's first lap exit may have blown the title - Kanaan only needs to keep going to win now.

Credit to all the top five for strong drives.

Scheckter would've been up there too if not for more mechanical problems.

Roll on Nazareth next week!

Another fine drive by Dario, his season has really come together now.

Sam and Tomas put some great drives in. Such a shame it all fell apart.

Rice is finished now. But all it takes is for kanaan to slip and it's wide open again.

Well judged win from Dario, he drove extremely intelligently. He should challenge in 2005, provided he doesn't have any pre-season injuries of course!

Congrats to Franchitti and also congrats to Fernandez on another great result - you sure can't tell he joined the series one race late with zero testing

Yet another strong performance from my man Adrian Fernandez, I'm sure evryrace retiring seems to become more and more ridiculous.

Really gutted for Buddy. Looks it's over for this year. I wonder if Rahal will sign him for next year?

Brack won't come back.

I think we'll get an announcement at the end of the season.

I'll get shot for this, but I still am unsure about Team Rahal. I think they might be the best team on the grid, considering they've got two historically mid-field drivers running so well this season.

It could be that Rice & Meira have suddenly developed considerably - but I'd like to see a known element driving in the same team along with them to be sure.

i.e. Brack

Good run by Dario, and it really looks like Adrian has found his groove. Hats off to Manning, Ganassi needed that, and its good to see my man Dan back!

I really thought it was going to be Penskes day though. Both Sam and Helio were running real well.

Trying to pick the top 5 each week is becoming damn near impossible in this series!

Didn't they say that Rahal was going to sign 3 cars next year...?

Yasukawa only had a two race deal but could return if the team finds sponsorship for a third car.

I sincerely doubt we'll see Brack racing IndyCars again.

I didn't say I did know for certain, I said "I sincerely doubt".

Which is clearly an assessment of the situation from the information available.

What kind of crowd did they have at the race?

I was running a golf tournament for my church, and did not get to see the race...

It really looked like a full house, give or take a few empty seats, in the main grandstand. The seats on the turn, looked to be about half full.

I havn't seen any numbers, but it seemed to be a great turnout.

I looked up the Seating capacity of Pike's Peak....the place holds 42,700...

So 39,000 is a very good crowd.....

If PPIR holds 42,700 then my estimate would be much lower than what the track workers told me as there were plenty of seats available.
