The 550 is indeed also a candidate, not the fastest but has proven it's reliable.

Frango should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I too think the 550 will be the car to beat

Acemco Saleen. The S7R has won this race already, but underperformed in longer races since. Tyre switch plus opposition largely untried over this distance gives it a theoretical advantage, but I expect Care 550 to run it very close.

Which opposition is largely untried? The Corvette's? Yes, there are some new bits, but also a great deal of carryover, particularly with most of the important parts.

the MC12 has never raced at Sebring or for 12 hours, same with the Aston Martins.

the new 'vettes do have a fair amount of carryover, but they are still new cars none-the-less.

Pacific Coast? new team, new drivers...

Saleen? if all goes right and there are no technical problems then they are the ones to beat, but having a trouble-free run is a lot to ask from the Saleen IMO.

Maserati hasnt raced over 12 hrs, AM and C6R have never raced before - that's what I mean by largely untried. Thanks

Or maybe they'll fit some massive Audi R8 style endplates and run in the invitation class with Maserati!

just some anger on the part of Prodrive's manager that Maserati was able to enter the MC12...

however nothing has come of it and Aston Martin has both of its DBR-9s in the paddock at Sebring ready to go!

It is feasible for Aston to run the timed practise runs, so that they've run in front of ACO officials, then park the car in protest. They need to run some sessions for the purpose of a LM invite.

The amount of changes on the new C6.R apparently isn't any more then switching between some of the C5R chassis. It isn't as much of a "New" car as some would think. Of course, if there are problems, then I'm sure Vette will mark it down to new car issues.
