1/43rd Baby Bertha

Having read through this week's Motorsports News and the sad news of Gerry Marshall's death I've realised that a 1/43rd scale die-cast of Baby Bertha would be a perfect addition to my model collection. Does such a thing exist?

I certainly haven't come across one, but it's a superb idea! Would probably have to be a limited edition kit and therefore expensive since I doubt if any of the diecast manufacturers could be persuaded to produce it. Still, we can but hope!

I was talking to Model Garage about this about 18 months ago and I was led to understand that one of the artisan kit designers was playing with castings with a view but I don't think anything has come of it yet. I don't think it was John Shinton, but it was someone of that sort of calibre - very high accuracy standards and limited run planned.

In the meantime, didn't Betta make a shell of one of Gerry's cars, either the Firenza or the Ventora, for 1/32nd slot car racing? I'll try to research that avenue too.

Someone sent me this link - http://www.scdparma.fsnet.co.uk/BETTALIST.htm which has both Big and Baby as 1/32 slot cars. No pics though.

I was sure I'd seen a pic of a Baby model somewhere in the last year or so but I can't find it now. May have been a 'normal' silver DTV liveried racing Firenza, although I can't find that either.

MikeM should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
You could ask GPM www.grandprixmodels.co.uk It would probably be a kit but they might be able to help.
