I read in Racecar Engineering magazine the other day that the RS Sypders will not be at Le Mans for 2006! Is this true because I though that the RS Spyders would be there?

They had no intention of racing at Le Mans this year. 2007 of course is the year the customers take delivery.
Remember, this car was "officially" commissioned by PMNA. So the focus is on the ALMS. |

Porsche has long maintained that LM2006 is not part of it's programme

Can we start speculating on who the customer cars will be heading to?
I read we could see at least one customer car before the end of 2006. In Europe I would expect:- Guppe M Freisinger (if they come back) Konrad (Can't seem them running Saleens in 2007) |

Olaf Manthey is in someway involved in the LMP2 project because he was on location during the racing debut of the car. |

Of course, there was this, published three weeks ago:
"The second car will get a Frenchman and a German of considerable ALMS experience, as Porsche sticks with its factory pilots. " |

There is some interest from both sides.... [/QUOTE]
VERY good news. I would love to see Franz run a LMP, and possibly shoot for wins again. They have had such bad luck with the Saleens, im just hoping they would move on, or at least buy a new Saleen (Acemco spec or 2006 Zakspeed spec) |

Guess I'll get to see the Porsche run twice (Sebring & Mid-Ohio), possibly three times (Mosport, if it doesn't cross the pond before then) before a lot of European race fans do....
Shame they won't be Doing LM, but Roger will be busy over here that weekend with his open-wheel program.... |

What happened that there seems to be bad blood between Weisach and Freisinger ? What are the possibilities of Konrad running Spyder RS in the Lms ? He has a good relationship with Porsche and has always been more interested in prototypes . |
