Does this mean your not returning to Silverstone Stowe ?

Would Rallycross cars be able to run in the morning on the full circuit and then run again in the afternoon on the Oval ? We are trying to get more drivers interested from both formulas to compete on tarmac.

We are going back to stowe, see the dates on Rods site or in the thread in "Trackside" for more details!

Stowe will be a "warm up" meeting on March 25th (not a T&R round) plus there will be other meetings later for the sports and saloon series.
With regard to the oval meeting at Lydden, BARC and RDC had to book the date soon after the last meeting. The Rockingham event has only recently been announced, but it is a shame it clashes.

The timetable for Sept.9th will not be finalised for some time. The oval content is likely to include the Camso V8s, Belgian Lightning Rods, Ministox,RDC hot rods and super rods. Whether we get enough interest in a rallycross vs hot rod challenge is open to question.
With regard to the NHRPA hot rods it is unlikely they will now come, we did get the outlaws a couple of times but not the sort of numbers we hoped for. Strange really, especially when you see how much room there is at Lydden (no fence posts or concrete walls) and like you I think they would provide good racing.

What's this Stowe meeting Rod? Can't find any details of it anywhere? Is it a BARC-SE Sports/Saloons jobby?

Rob.

Yes, details will be available soon. Some of the dates on the BARC main website are wrong.

Good question. It varies a lot from venue to venue. The final amounts should be sorted by next week, but it looks like ranging from £140 to £220 depending on the circuit.

Stock cars have been mentioned at Lydden, I remember seeing them in the 70s on the Brands Clearways oval, Mallory ( going the wrong way around Shaw's hairpin down towards the Esses and cutting back to Devils Elbow via the short circuit link) and at Snetterton on the grass infield oval between Coram and the Bombhole.

I was given my "hooking qualification" by Nick the JCB driver at silverstone at the Walter Hayes Trophy Meeting. All it means is that I was attaching strops to cars and the jcb to tow/lift cars out of the gravel. The BOB comment is a long running with between Silverstone Marshals, who wear black and the other marshals who wear orange. Stands for Black Overalled B.... (fill with nasty word beginning with B).

Happy New Year to you too, and to everyone else!

Yes sorry, I hadn't read the dates and things properly! Doh!!

Blimey there have been lots of questions and things today!!

Looks like the Rolling Thunder show is running on the 9th Sep. So that's probably a no-no for the UK Modifieds or the Outlaws ? Rod are you going to the Brentwood show (now at Arena Essex) ?

Also what dates are wrong on the BARC website ? As I'm trying to arrange a couple of dates for the Rallycross boys at Stowe or Lydden.

The BARC website has now been amended and I think that the dates are now correct. There is space at Lydden on April 22nd, Stowe on May 20th and August 12th, possibly at Lydden on September 9th or October 7th.

Here's another one, cast your mind back to last spring, and the Peterborough Motor Club meeting.... were you "on duty" at Brooklands?
