the 500 on Australia TV?

I dont know if this has been mentioned before, but is the 500 on Australian TV this year? I haven't heard at all....

I dont know if Channel 10 will be showing the race , they did last year.

But if you have Cable TV you will be able to watch it on ESPN in Australia

It was mentioned on RPM today that "We'll have the Indy 500 on Ten next week". Suspect it will be about an hour or so after the Monaco GP (I think)...

Thats fine by me....I noticed on the website that there will be a highlights package on Saturday the 10th....I hope this is not just it all

iirc, it's normally about 2 am it starts, it used to be Monaco -> French Gp - Indy 500. 2 years ago it was Monaco - *stuff* - Indy 500 iirc.

Ch 10 should show it live after Monaco, also ESPN will carry it live.

Hopefully with ESPN we'll get the ESPN America commentators (as per the case with qualifying) rather than the international guys (Larry Rice I think it has been in the past)

doubt it , we will have to sit through the Larry rice commentary for a lot longer yet , I just ESPN would give us the ABC guys

Viewers on the international feed get Larry Rice and that other guy because some networks show the IndyCar races commercial-free (like here in Sweden), and while I would love to get the ABC commentary I have to say that I prefer getting proper camera angles and US commentary instead of, for example, like it's done during the NASCAR broadcasts which cuts to a non-narrated on-board camera whenever the US broadcast cuts to commercial.

Then again, I assume the Australian broadcast goes to commercial whenever the US one does.

we get adds all the time on the ESPN international coverage , every 5 minutes they throw to commercials , I dont even know why sometimes.

they come back from an ad break tell us where we are what we are watching and then go straight to another set of commercials.

I was reading (somewhere else) that people were spamming hate mail to Fox as they were tape delaying the Assen TT, which means its false advertising to say "Every Round Of The 2006 MotoGP Season LIVE

What time does the Indy start Aus time anyway? Its like 2 or 3 in the morning isn't it?

And for some strange reason, it often isn 't in the TV guides down here. But you can normally tell, one year I remember it (The TV Guide) being

Motor Racing - Monacco F1 Grand Prix 10:30 - 12:30
Motor Racing - French MotoGP 12:30 - 6:30.

I have looked on the TV guide and all it mentions is F1 GP, followed by a plethora of crap, Including Informercials. Looks like the revenue received by Advertising Motivational Speaking and Pimple cream is greater then showing the greatest spectical in racing....

Luckily a friend who has Fox said that he will get me a copy

And I agree that the ESPN commentators we get aren't too great..
