Congrats to Wheldon on winning a great, close race, and congrats to Sam Hornish Jr. on winning an even closer championship!

Helio thinks he finished second in the championship.
Err, I have some bad news. |

Great to hear it was a sell-out (even though some fans stayed away due to earlier rain), and also great to hear and see the crowd cheer Hornish Jr. as he came up to collect his Championship Trophy

Hornish: "I think this is the most excited I have ever been".
Whilst not looking remotely excited. Ooh, I like that trophy. I'll have some of that. |

Sigh... suddenly 2007 seems agonizingly far away.
Aww, poor Wheldon - almost no one standing around his victory lane |

He couldn't've done anything more today, but he lost the title over the full season, not a single race. Congratulations to Sam for winning that third title - it looked so inevitable when he joined Penske that he would win it again, I enver thought it would take so long.

You could tell that Ganassi just had a better set up today. If it wasn't for the side by side racing for the first 15 laps, then the Ganassi boys would have just pulled away (they were already starting to). Also, when Hornish got out ahead of Wheldon in the pit lane, Wheldon had passed Hornish on the restart before they even crossed the flagstand!!!
Great job for Wheldon..for once i'm glad he actually won because of his bad season. I bet he was kicking himself at the end of the race...the championship could've been his if he had finished one place better in one other race this season technically. And how about the fact that all cars that started crossed the checkered flags!??! (Although Marty Roth only completed 161 laps..) |

Just to add my congrats to Sam Hornish on his title, I thought I already had, obviously not!
Congrats to the top four as a whole though, it was a fantastic title battle. |

Yes, with all 4 at the front with only a few laps to go side by side that was something.
