2007 Commentators

So who would you like to see as a commentator for Champ Car on ABC/ESPN/NBC?
I chose Paul Page and Parker Johnstone personally, because i believe that they made the races a lot more interesting.

I chose Derek Daly, because it would be amusing and I wouldn't have to listen to him anyways.

I chose Paul Page and Rick Benjamin. They seem like smart guys. Just don't bring back, I believe it was, Bob Jenkins. I remember him doing commentary on SPPED for ChampCar a few years ago, and him totally butchering driver and team names. He called Tarso Marques, "Mar-kee," not "Mar-kez;" and also called the Herdez team "Her-deez," not "Air-dez." I'm glad he got fired.

Murray Walker!! Considering the way he mangled his way through F1 imagine what he could do with Champ Car.

I'm all for Paul Page, I'm just worried about him mailing it in like he did for the last year or two of his previous CART stint.

For whatever reason Paul Page hasn't ever done anything for me as a commentator but I know he is quite popular. Danny Sullivan has a handle on the Owners and Tommy Kendall is probably the closest to the current racing happening from an "in the car" stand point.

I have to agree with mandretti, keep Bob Jenkins away. Let's give Brooke Burns a go in the pit lane. She may know nothing about racing but she's bright and is easy on the eyes.

You might end up with Leigh Diffey from Australia doing it..

Word is he is heading back to the US for a commentary gig.

I voted for Tommy Kendall- He's the only one on that list I know.

And he competed at Bathurst about 10 years ago.

Wouldn't it be nice to listen to a broadcast and only hear smart smart people? Parker and Jon.

Parker and Jon as well. Both are former drivers (from the CART days).

Paul Page and Derek Daly should be kept as far away from these broadcasts as humanly possible. Especially Daly.
