There seems to be a confusing array of clubs all doing the sameish thing - but after trawling though a lot of regs it seems my 'almost' standard is likely to be seriously outgunned. What's now annoying is that my car is too modified for the likes of 750mc Stock hatch. |

Dom, send a "PM" to Graham Bahr. He will tell you the regs. The dates for the Southern tin tops are almost complete. Entry fees start from £135, for two races at Lydden.

[quote=andy97]The Classic Sports Car Club's "Tin Tops" series is for production saloon/ hatchbacks, under 2 litres, 4 cylinder, non turbo/ supercharged (except diesels). Original silhouette and Original engine, gearbox and induction system type to be retained.
Before you get all the stock hatches excited, the rules above only mean that the basics have to stay the same ie no 2ltr novas etc, you will find that a lot of the cars run quite sophisticated engines on race cams ,throttle bodies, oversize wheels and big brembo brakes etc, Having said that it is a very good series and if you spend your money wisely on a small engined car could do well in the 8 valve class. |

I know the class structure has been altered slightly to try and even things up a bit. But like you also said, a smaller engined car, or a less sophisticated engine, could still do very well overall. |

From the Classic Sports Car Club's web site:
"The CSCC will be organising a trip for its members and their cars to the Daytona Continental Historic Race meeting in November 2007. The total price of approximately £ 3,300 will include: • RO-RO shipping for race car and delivery/return to Daytona Intl Speedway • Return flight for driver and guest (out & back Tuesdays) • Extra flights negotiable • 7 days B&B in local hotel for 2 people • All practice, qualification and races throughout the weekend, Wed – Sunday All members of the Classic Sports Car Club are eligible for this offer (£30 annual membership fee for electronic Newsletter; £35 for paper Newsletter, current until 31st Jan 2008)". I believe that fianl costs will be firmed up at the Autosport Show but with the dollar at a healthy exchange rate at the moment it should not get much, if any, more expensive IMHO. |

There is complete thread dedicated to the Daytona trip here http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90035
Price and itinerary have changed and although it is now bit more expensive I think you get more time out there than originally stated. |

I ran into two guys i know at Autosport on friday.
One has been racing a fiesta in the one make series and is looking for better value for money and the other has a nova that was been used at arena essex in the euro class ( it has windows, lights a cage etc) a class that Rod proberly know more about. Would they be welcome in the tin tops or would the fiesta be better off in the dtrc? |

Depends on how modified they are, and whether they want to race on treaded or slick tyres. Graham Bahr has all the technical regs but I think he has a computor probelem today.

What's the class structure? Filling out the registration form, and not sure where a 1998cc 16v car running on R888s or AO48s would go.
Also, is your license number the same year on year? Haven't got this years back from the MSA yet. |

I'm not entirely sure I think they changed the date or changed their minds or something...remember until events actually happen they're provisional...
Entries for Lydden are £135 I think and the others are dependant on who they're with and where they are! |

We are trying to keep all the entries below £200. Lydden is £135 and you do get TWO races for that. Rockingham is a shame. We tried very hard to secure a slot, but the BRSCC have used most of the time for their own stuff (trying to be diplomatic here!!).
There will be the challenge at Brands in early May though. |
