For those who don't know, the qualifying for the drivers in the All-Star challenge is as follows.
A total of three laps will be put into aggregate time. When on lap two, you must come down pit road, and make a four tire pit stop. Harder to explain, heres a video from two years ago. http://youtube.com/watch?v=swIjp12L1NQ |

Freaking Montoya, took out a bunch of cars right at the beginning of the qualifying race. No excuse for the reckless driving. I know there are a lot of JPM fans here but he had better learn how to drive soon or he will be put in the wall constantly by everyone.

What the hell man, lol. Two corners. Monty's car hit the apron, which shot him up the track, so, yeah, it was his fault, but, he couldn't back out, he would have gotten hit up the back.
ANNNNNNDDDD, here we go again, Bliss and Said wreck. |

Just lost it on cold tyres, a bit silly really. However, I don't think he needs to learn to drive - feel the hysteria.
Truex finally gets a form of Nextel win and Kenny Wallace was voted in! |

That sucked for JPM. He had a good chance at finishing in the top 2 and transferring into the main event. I was glad to see Truex win, Sauter run well, and Kenny Wallace get voted in.
Top 5 for Segment 1 1. Kenseth 2. Gordon 3. Johnson 4. Harvick 5. J. Burton |

Damn, Junior busted for speeding. He was 8th at the end of the first segment, had a good stop. Now he will fall to dead last because of this.
Edit: Trouble for Johnson, has to come back in as well due to a bad tire. |

Regardless of Johnson's tire problem he is still one of the favorites to win. It will be either, Jimmie, Jeff, or Kyle I think. HMS looks strong as usual.

Harvick wins, getting $1,031,539, Johnson gets second, and a paltry $246,000. Lol.

JPM's startin to struggle more and more as the season goes on... Seems like he went in the corner awfully strong.. and it about time a non-hendrick car won a NNC race even if it wasn't points paying... seems like forever!!

Harvick huh? He isn't winning regularly, but he's winning the correct races. Daytona 500 and All Star Challenge. Fair bit of cash that!

i wonder if it is the schedule- or the equipment.
the Busch series races he has done much better- even winning the Mexico race. even his ARCA race appearances have been more impressive... is Ganassi a team or organization strecthed to the limit? Of course if we throw him in the INDY cars again he will probably kick rear- some serious winning, instead of struggling...or is NASCAR cup that tough and good of a series? |

Well it is clearly tough, although I think the key thing is it is totally different to anything else.
Montoya hasn't had such a woeful time of late as has been stated, but it is certainly his toughest time thus far. Good results were lost at some places (Talladega springs to mind) and the CoT is quite clearly in disastrous hands at Ganassi. I think this is leading to some frustration on JPM's part and he perhaps needs to calm down a little, although I don't think he's the wild animal many are saying. Lowe's was regrettable, but he hasn't done that many times. And it is a non-championship race. To go well, JPM needs a quick track or a road course, preferably in the old shape cars. Which at this stage is unfortunate. JPM needs to gain experience and learn for sure, but Ganassi need to take a huge step forward. |
