Kurt Busch Penalized for Dover
Kurt Busch will be put on probation for the rest of the year. He will lose 100 points and will be fined $100,000. Here is the link to the report from Nascar.

A hefty fine, but NASCAR was way too lenient by just taking away points and not suspending him outright. Neither do I think that the penalty in owner points is fair; the team should not be punished for the actions of its driver.

Yeah I've never understood why they punish the team as well. Was Roger Penske supposed to dive in front of Busch's car to stop him from doing something stupid? I can understand if it was a rules violation in regards to the car, but beyond chewing them out of firing them the owner cannot reasonably control someone else's actions.

It's because it's a team sport, and the driver is a part of the team (that's the theory anyway)

Probably should've been suspended a race, and a $100,000 fine means nothing to them. Also did anyone else notice the last few comments of each thread disappeared? Or am i goin crazy?

Busch really should have been suspended for at least a race. He put one of Stewart's crew members in physical danger, and that can't be tolerated, at any time, under any circumstances, by anyone...
