I read somewhere that Alain Prost is going to sell half his team to UFA sports from germany, Mercedes would then be intrested to suply enigines, and Heidfeld will stay, very interesting, but it's still only a rumour, what do you think about it, could it be true??.

mhhh...It could happen. Prost has learned (the hard way) that being a team owner is a pretty hard thing to do. And Prost (the team) is currently sinking to the bottom of the grid and with Peugeot's departure next year and no engine deal so far Prost's future doesen't look very promising. He needs both money and an engine deal fast and this could be his only chance to get both and furthermore, to get a competitive engine.

I don't see DaimlerChrysler being persuaded to let Illmor supply another team. Prost is dead in the water and drifting toward the falls. I'm very worried, and I have little hope for the survival of the team.

Prost will be at the back by the end of the season, and who knows, they may be gone before long. That team needs sorting out REAL fast.
As for their engines, I doubt Mercedes would really back them. And with Minardi the likely receivers of any stray Peugeot/ATM (or whatever it's called), Supertec or Ferrari engines, it doesn't look hopeful. |

I don't think the team will die. Don't forget these 2 details. 1) Bernie ecclestone wont let the team leave and therefore leave another empty spot on the grid to fill. Much less when he was now happy that the 12'th spot was going to be filled by toyota. 2) Nick Heidfeld was accepted in Prost as part of a deal between Mclaren and Prost.....and I would guess that the other part was an engine deal with mercedes....certanly not the same engines as mclaren but customer engines......much like the ferrari-sauber deal.
