The 20,000rpm is very impressive offcourse, they achieve this by using a Desmodromic DOHC system. However, I think pneumatic valves are the way to go, like Suzuki is using. Last edited by Gerben24; 15 Oct 2007 at 10:53. |

I also have to voice my sympathies for Nicky. He was looking the business and it's shame his motor went sour and then finally gave up. Not saying the outcome would have been different, but it would have been more entertaining perhaps.

Well done Casey, and well done Ducati!
This year the small italian moto industry has beaten the Japanese Moloch in every series!! Let's expect a strong reaction though |

I also think now that if Nicky hadn't had his probs he would have been on the podium. The shocking thing was that the Michelin tyres dropped half a second after TEN laps... This doesn't bode well for Sepang, it could turn out into a malaise (*) (*)thanks to JH for this pun |

I think everybody had that though, the big difference seemed to be Ducati gambled on harder tyres due to the heat, and Suzuki brought the right ones all along but it was simply too cold for them until Sunday.

yes, but the drop in performance for Bridgestone occured later in the race. I believe Suzuki used the same tyres as Ducati (not sure about that tho). Ducati can make the tyres work better for them during cold conditions like they had on Friday and Saturday.
Melandri chose the wrong tyre. |
