Dogs At Oulton Park

I was horrified yesterday to see a green estate car pull up on the spectator bank opposite the pit lane straight on east gate side, opposite race control and - the car owner got out opened the tail gate and out jumped three dogs! Did they get ejected from the circuit?? Also, how did they get in, in the first place?

I heard the circuit staff been informed over the radio, so hopefully they were.

Saw one of the pit lane marshals having words with the dog owners. The dogs went back in the car, not sure whether they stayed or not.

Understood from radio that they were ejected, and certainly should have been as the dogs were loose,

it did prompt a chorus of who's let the dogs out! from our post when we heard

Well you'd have thought whoever was on the gate would have stopped them getting in...

Indeed.

The problem doesn`t stop with not letting them in though. At Brands recently on a rather hot day, a dog-owner decided to leave theirs tied to their car in the front car park. Water was left for it (yes, the owners didn`t even do THAT!) by the circuit staff. And when the owners came back, not only did they manage to vacate the premises without getting collared by MSV, but they also pocketed the dish that the staff had left the water in !!

funny that, we had the same issue at Cholmondeley this weekend with various people bringing dogs including some who must have been competeing as they were in our campsite!

makes you wonder sometimes...

I have also seen this at Anglesey, and think it was a competitors dog on one occasion.

Off topic.... Why do parents let kids bring footballs to the circuits?

I know dogs aren't allowed, and I'm not condoning bringing dogs into the circuit, but the three on Saturday were very well behaved (better than some kids I've seen) and weren't causing a problem.

Same reason they let have a ball anywhere.......To kick against my car my car is a magnet for little ****s with balls especially when ive spent the day cleaning it.

As for the dogs its a little silly to take a dog to any racing event. Mine is good as gold in normal situations i dont even need her on a lead i still wouldnt take her. It would only take a car to backfire most dogs would be off !
