Mastermind questions on LM 24
Just found this link on Pistonheads, I missed the show but got 6 right when I watched it. Thought people might like to have a go and post score, honest answers only.
Good luck http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00ff138 |

Interesting, although you have to say that some of those questions (such as traditional start time and the increase to 55 cars in '07) could be considered a little too easy for someone using it as a 'specialist subject'.
When seeing how many I might have known too, I forgot to count my score, so it would be unfair of me to watch it again and post a result! |

Got 11. Glad to see the bloke won it, shame he's used up my favourite specialist subject if I ever go on there though.

They did this in Midweek Motorsport@Radio Le Mans. John Hindaugh scored 11 or 12.

It's a big favour, but the show is not available outside UK due to digital rights management I presume. If any of you would be so kind as to type the questions, I would really appreciate but completely understand if you don't as it is a lot of luck for an internet stranger.

1. Which club has organised the race since its inception in 1923?
2. At what time does the race traditionally start and finish (although it has been altered on several occasions)? 3. Before the 1957 race Jaguar stopped running a works team and passed their cars onto which team which provided Briton's Ron Flockhart his second consecutive win? 4. In 79 the team that came second included Dick Barbour, the actor Paul Newman and which German F1 driver? 5. One of the winning drivers in 85 raced under what assumed name apparently because he didn't want his mother to know he was racing? 6. Whats the name of the first bend on the circuit after the start before the Esses? 7. Who won the 1950 race virtually single handed driving the entire race except for pit stops and allowing his son to drive 2 laps? 8. In 1963 what start number was carried by the first car with a gas turbine engine in a Rover BRM driven by Graham Hill and Richie Gunter? 9. In 1930 who partnered Margueritte Marreuse in the first ever all female team. The team finished 7th overall? 10. In the 2007 race in which Frank Biela and Emmanuelle Pirro both achieved their 5th wins, the number of cars allowed to take part in the race was increased from 50 to how many? 11. Who in 1971 set a record for the fastest race lap on any form of the circuit averaging over 244 km/h in a Porsche 917? 12. How many cars started the first race in 1923 which was won by the French drivers Andre Lagashe & Rene Leonard? 13. In 1955 Pierre Levegh and over 80 spectators lost their lives when which driver's Austin Healey was clipped by Levegh's Mercedes? 14. What section of the track did the Porsche curves replace in time for the 1972 race after the ACO began eliminating sections of public road from the course? If you dont get at least 8 of these right you should try F1. its easier on the brain! Automobile Club d'Ouest 4pm Ecurie Ecosse Rolf Stommelen John winter Dunlop curve Louis Rosier 00 Odette Siko 55 Jackie Oliver 33 Lance Macklin |

Would "White House" count as an answer?
If so, 12. And I would claim Edith was a mispronunciation of Odette. |
