Nordic should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
http://www.lemans.org/sport/sport/ac...D_3622_gb.html

The revised regs give more details on the wednesday testing.

Quote:
The major change for the 2009 race is the fact that Wednesday’s practice session will not be the first qualifying session as in the past. On 10th June 2009, it will be a free test session extended by an extra 2 hours to enable all the drivers to familiarise themselves with the circuit. From 18h00 to 24h00 the teams invited by the ACO will be able to do both daytime and nighttime testing.
The next day, Thursday 11th June, qualifying practice will take place from 19h00 to 21h00 and from 22h00 to 24h00.

Not sure I see the point really, if your going to run on wednesday it may as well be timed? cant really see the cost saving there.

The problem is if you have a problem on Thursday your screwed without the times you have set the day before. Its a big commitment from a team to do the 24 hours, and now a small problem in the only timed practice session could lead to potential aborted trip unless they you get a wavier into the race.

Le mans entry fee 2009 (no test day) : 38,000 euros

Gotta love that 'cost savings'! LOL!
case closed.

Hmm, so two days of testing costs in fuel, tires, etc.. and room and board for a week are less than €3,000.? Case closed?

#1 it's one day of testing but don't let facts stand in your way.
#2 The point being that the cost has elevated while the services have declined. The ACO saves and the entrants are fleeced. it might be a bit more convincing if they at least held the line.

Oops, excuse me, only eight hours of testing. But yes don't let the facts get in the way of the trip overall costing less, period!
