In all seriousness, I can't see how this can work.
Just using 888 and DJR as examples, 888 has an alleged much higher budget, but share engine development costs with SBR. DJR get less money in, but develop their own engines. Taking $1million from each would put DJR at a huge disadvantage. |

Three point plan -
1. Current cars up to the end of 2009 2. From 2010 cars to V8 Ute specification. 3. Development series runs current spec cars until 2012, thus giving the main game team the opportunity to sell their current cars. |

That'll be good, seeing Dev Series cars lapping 10 seconds faster than proddie based Main Series jiggers.
The biggest cost savings for V8 Supercar will be control long-life engines (like DTM), control long life subassembly components, and easier to repair chassis'...period. NASCAR's are approx HALF the cost of a V8 Supercar. If NASCAR introduced a control engine package, their costs would also spiral down nicely. Last edited by davester; 3 Jun 2008 at 12:59. |

Meantime, the cost of operating a team increases and not just in V8SC Here
There is a lot of benefit to be had for VESA to use buying power to secure these kinds of facilities across the world for the benefit of its teams! |

Why not..
Control chassis, fixed geometry, power curve, stiffness, downforce all equalized between the makes. If Triple 8 still win, a control damper, spring and roll bars. If Triple 8 still win, the top 3 in each session have to publish their set-ups, for tail end teams to take into consideration. If Triple 8 still win then the top 5-10 get ballast as trophy. That ought to reduce costs or at least make the tail enders quicker. |

Oh hang on were cornering too fast now, can I please have a bigger sump, wait on, no a dry sump please. Buffing the tyres is so time consuming, can we have slicks please, oh wont fit on that wheel, look at these lovely alloy ones. Dont those brakes look small, do you think we could have some nicer rotors & bigger calipers. Look at that body roll, keep spotting my new slicks, hmm we need some...... |

Once the USA decrees Falcon, Mustang, and other RWD models all have the same RHD/LHD capable platform (designed by the clever folks at Ford Australia of course) and similar engines (why not export the inline 6 for the bigger rear drive american fords to keep a great engine going?) then Ford Australia should be doing better. Otherwise with the non-worldwide inline 6 and non-worldwide locally specced V8 how are worldwide dealers going to give support to Falcons and Territories? |
