Spring arrives @ Malloy-March4th

Not a cloud in the sky and bright sun shine greeted me at Mallory this morning, not a huge entry and Wayne sensibly ran an 'open' pit lane all morning.
It was a good mix of old and new with the £53K KTM X Bow being chased by a front engined BRM. about half the cars seen had novice crosses on.
Tin Tops seen were: a Lotus Cortina, an Austin A35, two A40's, an E Type Jag, a Saxo, a MG Midget, John Hammersleys Honda Accord being driven by A.N.Other, a for 50 yards or so by a mark 2 Escort - he stopped in the pt exir road on his 1st lap out, eventually crawled to the centre of Gerrards where he stopped before being towed back into the paddock, never to be seen again. 4 Caterhams or Caterham look alikes completed the saloon type entry.

There were around a dozen single seaters, headed by the BRM, with Ben Sims Reynard 79 FFord 2000 looking particularly quick, as was Will Arif in his Royale. A March F3 car span and lost his rear wing in the Esses and continued for the rest of the morning 'tailess' , my favouritte was a 1960's vintage Formula Vee car jonied by an assortment of F.Ford 1600 & F.Renault types and a youg lad in a Vauxhall Junior looked like an accident waiting to happen all morning, finally proving me right at 12-20 when he brought out an early chequered flaf by dumping it in the gravel at Gerrards.
