I'm just surprised that a privateer team has not taken the oppurtunity to grab an easier GT1 win without the Corvettes being there. Maybe it has something to do with the economy, maybe something else. I'm pretty sure Konrad have at least one Saleen but I dont know about Bell and who owns the DBR9 they were running.

The ALMS have said they're not going to allow someone to cherry pick the GT1 championship like that.

Entry list updated. Chapman Ducote and his assortment of sponsors added to the Intersport entry.

So, if someone was to hypothetically pitch up with a a decent GT1 car (or even two), respectable drivers and plans to run the balance of the season (as opposed to some obviously cobbled-together effort with, say an elderly Viper, unknown amateur drivers and planning to just do the races Corvette are missing) would ALMS refuse the entries outright, or simply allow them to run, but not for points...?

[QUOTE=cmk;2429136]Touche. I can't understand why one would think that just because GT3 has worked (to some level) in Europe and to a lesser degree in Brazil, it will automatically work in the US.[ /QUOTE]GT3 has been a mega success in every country that runs a GT series.
If the ALMS now struggles to attract GT3 entries, more realistically declarations of intent to race in late '09-'10, I don't know were the series would turn. GT3's are not only budget friendly, they're quick, good looking and manufactured by the most prestigious GT brands. |

I expect most teams would be more interested in seeing how the future GT rules develop before worrying about '10/'11 programs anyway. If it's off-topic, take it to one of the threads where it's on-topic. |

Aren't the Viper's not homologated anymore? Bit long in the tooth and as far as ACEMCO goes, one of their Saleens is in Europe this year by which team I'm not sure.
(who and where for all the different Saleen chassis confuse me ) |

Well, I put my pessimistic prediction at 14, so anything above that has been a bonus for me. It ain't pretty, but come race day I'll probably enjoy it as usual.

ABC will be broadcasting it live, or at least on a brief tape delay, at 1:30pm EST Saturday.

Are they going to stream qualifying? I see no mention of it yet on the SPEED site.
