The move comes in the wake of first-corner incidents in the first two Grands Prix of 2002. At the last round in Malaysia Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya was given a drive-through penalty after his clash with Michael Schumacher. It is thought that stewards felt Montoya could have done more to avoid the accident.

i picked this up from formula1.com
man, thank goodness practice starts today and we will soon be discussing other topics . . and hopefully not discussing more F1 bonehead desicions (!)

This is specially for all of you that still think Juan should have been penalized:

Hm...
Until 5 minutes ago, I thought that --although Montoya made a mistake-- he should not have been penalized, because both he and Michael had a clear view of what happened, so both drivers had learned something.

But after following your link, I realize that Montoya did not even care to find out what had really happened. So he may very well try the same corner-chop again in the near future.

Did Montoya really say that?
Or is this rivals site (sometimes) unreliable?

I fail to see how you got to that conclusion, I don't agree with it, but then again, it seems to be common trend when it comes to this issue.

i don't follow you don, jpm said that it was a racing incident, and that he would be racing again, if the same situation arises!
