Christmas Thread -Lotto Win
It's time for a nonsense thread, not that most of the others turn that way,but what cars would you buy assuming you won and wanted to waste about 15 million of it on Classic cars?
Get lots of those B things and V8 crates. Roger's not allowed to answer as probably on his way there! |

How about something like this for starters-
http://www.mat.fi/n_index.php?nav=ga...rdmodel-a&g=13 There are 200 pics to scroll through but well worth it! Suggestion is that Juha Kankkunen had it built, but may be wrong. |

Starting with oldest first. I reckon I'm all in for a couple of mil. The rest can go on champagne and a new set of tyres for Ians Delta!

This is excellent. Often me and Alan Morgan will look in the back of Motor Sport , we normally have around £100,000.to spend.I would buy the biggest MAC truck with double awnings.Black of course with a big Cornish Flag next to the 10/10ths flag.Out of the back would be a 2 litre sports car don't mind what chassis.I would then just tour around Europe and never come home..I suppose i had better fill up the truck. So. Brabham BT6 FJ. March 712 BMW.Spare 2 litre sports car, then i think there might be space for a Cologne Capri. Hope that's not being too greedy.

Bugatti Type 35
Alfa Monza 8C Bugatti Atlante (prefer the Embiricos Bentley but let's be realistic!) Aston Martin DB3S Maserati 250F Cooper Monaco Ferrari 250SWB Ferrari 250 GTO Porsche 917 Jaguar XJR 9 Sauber C9 Oh and I'd love a classic transporter to go with this lot - not really bothered what - plus I saw the Lotus JPS liveried motorhome on the A1 a few years ago as per Ronnie Peterson - I'd love that as my race meeting home. Have I over-spent? |

John,
Always been my problem - champagne tastes on a beer wage! Oh well now what do I have to drop to come in on budget? I could do without the Atlante and the classic transporter and motorhome. If pushed between the XJR 9 and C9 I'd drop the Jag. Do I have any money left for some penny chews now? |

A good 8C and GTO takes you over Budget.
How about a comp 250SWB and the 8C, keeps you in and the SWB is as good a car as GTO and have you noticed some of the odd people who own those GTO's. Much more Historic Street Cred with SWB. |

Mk 1 Mini cooper S
E type lightweight Morris 1000 traveler (or mini traveler/van/pickup, cant decide!) MGB GT V8 Ford lotus cortina Austin A40 Lotus 7 Lotus 11 Austin 7 (why not!!) Or course many of them prepared for racing/sprinting/hillclimbing/rallying, with the amount of money won, for some it may be worth purchasing two, one for the road and one for the track!! |

I'd settle for a scratch-card win and enough cash to make my Spit competitive and run a few races (maybe fix some of the 'speed holes')

John,
Take your point on the GTO/SWB choice. To be honest the SWB is probably my choice as an all rounder so unless Westfieldbend hands over his spare 14m to bolster my fortunes, the GTO is out. |

I'm not really a big single seater fan so I think, given the restrictive budget set by John one really needs . .
period Transporter with modern chassis/underpinnings, so you actually get there on time '66 MK1 transit cabbed, 2009 4wd LWB chassis, bespoke motorhome. a decent prewar car ( one I can fit in! ) a 50's sports car (nothing too common, or uncompetitive, preferably English . . .DBR of sorts perhaps, or if thats too pricey a TR3! or a Lola MK1, or the right 356 a pre66 GT for International racing GT40 is the obvious choice, or a Lola MK6 just to be daft about it! maybe a DB4GT, or a 26R a club special for halfing a bloody god laugh ( Rochdale will do for now!) and the Cortinas I already have, 1 race 1 road/rally COlogne Capri MK1 Escort Broadspeed . .just a 1300 GT will do may as well have a scimitar, as a nod to the old man in fact on this budget I could probably have them all! John Whats the problem with the Frazer Nash, father in law had one and was a flyer, he then lost his head completely and bought a Healey Silverstone which has thankfully gone to Germany! If you insist on taking it out then what about a Targa Florio instead although would settle for 250 swb, but I'm in agreement with Sir Jack and not a big fan of the red cars from Modena.

DB4GT Zagato [a real one with real history] Alfa GTA and TZ2.Lola T70,no,not a new one! A 250SWB should fit into the workshop of the 800,000Euro property I've fallen in love with,Min's from Spa,lot's of room for friends to stay for the weekend. The change could be used for something similar to Zef's idea,New Retro Look transporter with living accommodation, sort of thing as seen on Top Gear, the one with the sports car slung underneath! Should leave enough to live on plus help out one or two charities.Oh,and some carrots for Rudolf.
