F3 Brazil Open 2010

Read about this a couple of times in Autosport. Four races at Interlagos, 21st-24th January.

http://www.f3brazilopen.com/?p=111

Quote:
The F3 Brazil Open expects to attract not only drivers from Brazil as well as competitors from Europe. “Drivers from all over the world will have the opportunity of testing and racing during the off-season in Europe, with the benefits of Brazilian weather, the new cars from Dallara and for a fraction of the cost they would have in other countries”
The races will be for SudAm F3's Berta engine formula this year, but I think I read the plan for 2011 would be to invite foreign teams to bring their own cars like Macau?

Will Buller is due to take part for Hitech Racing Brazil. Any news on any other Europeans flying over to take part?

Problem is British F3 regs specifically forbid any F3 track activity until Feb 14th, unless you get a specific waiver.

Is Will Buller the first British driver to have won a race in Brazilian F3 this century?

I see the Negrao and Andrade names.

Is the former a relative of Xandi Negrao and is the latter any relation to Alexander Andrade from the late 80's/early 90's who raced in Formula Ford and VLC?

Andre Negrao is cousin of Alexandre Sarnes 'Xandi' Negrao.

That was a good result for Buller - http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/81042

Theoretically he was racing for Hitech's sister team, which will be staying in South America all season, but he should still have obtained a special dispensation under the BF3 regulations, unless they have changed.

Doesn't SudAm F3 use a different and more powerful engine though? 11 sounds like an acceptable grid for year one, but next year they would hopefully get new teams running the normal engines. One thought I've had is with Brazil, the Zandvoort Masters, Macau and one other (Pau?) the FIA could call it a World Championship ...

The Berta engine delivery more horsepower (250 HP, using a unrestricted air intake diameter), but less torque. Drivers who drives both, Berta and BF3 specs engine, say VW/Merceder/Honda is better considering overall perfomance.
