Lotus 18
Can anyone help me with the history/owners of my
Lotus 18 chasis no 717 Lotus 18 chasis no 763 I can't read the chasis no on my Lotus 20/22 which was sold by the factory to Malcolm Templeton- Reg Armstrong chasis plate starts FJ but is now badly acid stained. Anyone have any idea of what the number should be. All the above cars have been in Ireland since 1960's I have owned the cars over 30 years. Thanks |

I think the Malcolm Templeton chassis was 22-J-13 but I also think, for some reason, that this chassis is claimed to be in Australia [I'm far from an FJ expert] Chris |

22-J-13 is in Australia with its English owner, last history was purchased from the Templetons by Bob Tabor, restored to its twin cam guise then sold to the Williamsons and returned to its original Formula junior state (but still with its Mike Costin fitted stiffening from its "libre" days)

Lotus 20/22
Chris
I am not sure if this car started life as a 20 it was raced by Reg Armstrong andwould have come to Ireland via his friend Malcolm Tempelton who was the Lotus agent and also raced a 22 his had a twin-cam lotus engine I think. I must have this car about 30 years bought less engine 13" Lotus wheels front and 15" back. Body work green and looks like 22 but cant remember much about 20/22s in the 60's Reg Armstrong lived in Dublin and I think raced bikes at one time. Thanks mike |

Michael,
Could you send me some photos of the cars bodywork, the rear suspension and the front part of the frame. Please send to SARL45@hotmail.com. I wonder if your car could be a 20/22 and this could help you figure out more about its history. What brakes are on it, disc or drum, inboard or outboard at the rear? |

15 inch wheels on the back sounds like Lotus 20.

I know of a Lotus 18 which has been restored and has raced/hill climbed this year. Tommy Reid has a 22 which he has had restored in England- I havent seen this car yet. I cant think of any others other than Lotus 7's which there are a least 4/5. I have a 1500 S2. Mike |
