Danielsun should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
First Renault buys Benetton, then they say they'll supply that team's engines next season. And go and say that they'll supply Benetton's engines only. Now Autosport reports that possibly Benetton, Prost and - uh oh - Minardi could be powered by a Renault-sourced powerplant.

Could this be that they're really serious, or is this just a money raising exercise, promoting further use of their now four-year-old 'Supertec' engine?

Some of autosports storry's dont seem to have much credibility at the moment. I can remember a few weeks ago, the front cover had the storry that jv had signed for benetton!!!

And their 'In the Papers' section this week they're having a go at the press for publishing pics of Rubens crying with joy; did not they do the same today?

Back on topic anyway, I don't think Renault will do it seriously; they'll probably send someone out to just do another minor upgrade on the old donk...

I must admit I find this difficult to believe. If Renault are going to put their name to an engine (and a team) I can't see them dissipating their efforts in this way.....
Possibly Supertec engines will be available to Prost and Minardi which would allow them to race next year, but I would imagine development on these engines would be virtually non-existant.

No - ages ago Jenson Button was on the cover with an article about his getting the sack. And he still hasn't been sacked! But in the major F1/motorsport magazines, he's been sacked ohhh...about 5 times.

They will either be Supertecs or a development Renault engine - testing the water for the new Renault team in 2002...

Valve Bounce has been held in scrutiny for further testing
Well, I hope that Minardi will get the full strength Renault. That will show how good Minardi really are.
