BAR's main secondary sponsor, Teleglobe will not sponsor the team next season.
The announcement was made on Thursday and according to the international phone and data carrier they cited 'evolving marketing and business objectives' as the motive behind its withdrawal.

Teleglobe became BAR's sponsor in 1998 and the deal was rumoured to be worth $68 million.
Jacques Villeneuve recently signed a new three-year deal and just how this will effect the team is unclear at this time.

Teleglobe is a local high-tech company. It was suspected that they wanted to sponsor BAR in response to Nortel's (another local high-tech company) decision to sponsor Williams.

Teleglobe has been losing money of late, and their stock has been on the decline. Nortel, on the other hand just keeps going up. Teleglobe said that it was a business decision.

My guess is that they are strapped for cash and can't afford to sponsor BAR anymore.

I doubt this will affect the team in a big way. With Honda and Villeneuve they are guaranteed to get new sponsors.

Teleglobe was recently bought out by BCE so that may have something to do with it.

That kinda signs Zonta's fate doesn't it?

Or is he still being backed by the Mercedes driver support programme?
