Does anyone know any more about this i.e. when & where Mansell drove this car & what livery etc?
This ad shows the car as 1993 year, with mods from later seasons. Now Nigel Mansell did actually get a car entered in his name, in a Chelgrave Contracting ST 318i, for Steve Ellery... I can recall they took a cardboard cutout from a Caltex Havoline service station at the time... all in the interests of 1st April of course

So if this car is indeed the B&H Longhurst chassis, with some updates, perhaps this is the one?

The mention of Mansell brings the 1993 TOCA Shoot-Out at Donington to mind.

Apart from Mansell, the entry featured quite a few one-off and guest entries, including Derek Warwick in a Toyota and (slightly more on topic for this thread), musician Chris Rea who turned up in one of the Dynamics 318iS Coupes alongside Matt Neal's 4-door and Alex Portman's Coupe.

Rea's car carried sponsorship from 'Espresso Logic', his then-new album, which I think was released around the time of the race. The pic shows him leading another visitor for this race, Bengt Thenander's E30 M3:

From memory, apart from a couple of BTCC regular entries (a Schnitzer car for Steve Soper and Dave Pinkney's Coupe, there were a couple of other E36s on the entry list- although I think only one of them started.

Klaas Zwart (later of Ascari sportscar fame) appeared in one, only to fall off at the Old Hairpin early in the race. The second I think was entered for one of the regular UK prodsaloon M3 racers, (maybe Guy Povey?) but this was either a no-show or it broke in practice.
Where did these cars come from- presumably hired from Europe for the occasion? IIRC, Zwart's BMW was a 4-door, it might have been green, and was sponsored by Petroline

The 2 green cars were from the Italian Racing Dynamics team used in the Italian Superturismo series and were driven by #33 Klaas Zwart backed by John Clark BMW/Petroline/Howco Superalloys and #43 driven by Peggen Andersson backed by Nokia/BMW Sverige.

The 1993 chassis (ex Italian Superturismo) that Longhurst drove in 1994 in B&H livery and won the Australian Supertouring Championship is now in NZ, owned by Lindsay O'Donnell (along with it's 1994 Diet Coke sister car ex Paul Morris, now owned by Dennis Chapman).

HI Chris,
there was an ex Listerine VLM bought by Longhurst in late 1992 and converted to 2.5L in an attempt to "homologate" it for the 1993 season. It was driven by Paul Morris in the GP support race here, it had "BMW Driver Training" on the sides. I am not sure what became of this car though, I thought it was still kicking around OZ? From the description of yours and history, it sounds like a different car?

One of the sellers of the car in post#22 is Jarl. In '04 a Swede called Jarle Gasland ran a car,in fact he brought it to the Snetterton Pirelli Trophy when it was white with Shell backing.Could this be the same car several years later?

Yes they were, one the Harvey car. Not sure which other one went to OZ, but the other car in this photo is the third car.
I did end up buying the ex Harvey car, but I don`t think that is how I came by this picture.

Alex your recently posted picture of the three Supertouring 320's is almost certainly in Norway but other than that it has me stumped! Cars like this ran in various Norwegian events from 2000 to 2007 but none that match these three!!Anyone help? Ian.

Does anyone have some info and/or pictures of the late E36 STC car's Penske mono-arm struts? These struts were developed by Penske UK and used on the BTCC cars. These struts were also used on the short lived NATCC cars driven by Randy Pobst and Darren Law.
