Chris Hobson should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I will try to make it crystal clear.

Attendance signatures should be given at the end of the day, along with comments on how the marshal has performed.

They can be given by ANYONE acting as the Post Chief (or if you like the person in charge of that bit of track or discipline). So if a flaggie is in charge on the post that day they can sign, if an I/O is in charge they can sign, if an experienced track marshal is in charge they can sign - you do not have to be a graded post chief to sign the attendance signature.

Only an examining grade can sign for an assessment day.

Please stop trying to read in complications or restrictions that are not there - the scheme works on the KISS principle - Keep it Simple S*****.

If there are any more queries please address them to me and I will attempt to sort them out.

Please aslo note this is written as Chair of the MSA MArshals Working Group - NOT as Chair of BMMC

Yes indeed thank you Chris for finally putting it to bed

Pretty much as I said in my very first post in fact.

This thread arose becuase I was asked by a number of people what was going on as they had been refused attendance signatures despite clearly attending LOL. It seems the people "in charge" on a post at the time were unsure of where they stood.

Hopefully Chris's answer will now enable anyone having difficulties with this aspect of gaining attendance signatures to get them easily - which is the idea....

As Chris says - Assesment signatures are a completely different ball game.

Again thank you Chris for sorting it out for us.

As far as I can see - thread now at natural end? However some excellent discussion points/ideas have been made regarding the grading scheme - so well done folks.
