Work Experience

Hello everyone

Im James, 18 years old and just finished BTEC National Diploma in Motorsport Engineering - Grade distinction. Before this I completed BTEC National Award in Motorsport Engineering with grade distinction. I had applied and accepted to take a foundation degree in motorsport engineering, but due to lack of interest in the course they have just pulled the plug. Im currently looking at as many options available to me as possible.

In the mean time I would like to gain as much experience as possible with teams at either trackdays or race events.

If there is anyone needing an extra hand with their racing please feel free to contact me as Im happy to take as much experience as I possibly can.

I am based in Norfolk however, I do have a full clean UK driving licence and am willing to travel.

I have experiance with Formula Fords, Radicals, Lotus gt2/gt4 and more.
Please contact me for further details on what experiance I have. Any chance for me to gain experience will be much appreciated.

Contact me via e-mail: james_blackburn_2007@hotmail.co.uk
Phone: 07900643145 or 01362 860668

Many thanks

James

James,
Three days and no one who might know better has given you an answer, so let me have a go.
First, have alook around here. This isn't the first time theta the Q., "where can I get work experienc?" has been asked, and answered.
Then, your course has been cancelled. have you considered going elsewhere, finding another degree course? This thread http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...2&goto=newpost includes repleis from students and teachers at Cranfield, Oxford Brookes and Brunel universities, and you should not forget Myerscough College http://www.myerscough.ac.uk/?page=su...motorsports-HE

As for getting to work with a team, I'd say, put yourself about a bit! Go to the teams in the paddock, choosing your moment. Tell them of your considerable training and previous experience (more than some!). Ask them to try you out!

Good luck!

John

Many thanks for the reply John.

I have looked into a lot of options, including other courses and providers.

I have been ringing and sending letters out to teams regarding this, and will be going to snetterton (local track for me) a couple of times to try talk to some teams. Just thaught it may be worth posting up on here as there may be some 'club' racers perhaps needing a hand with race weekends.

Again, thanks for the reply.

James
