It started at Oulton!

Anyone wondering what Nelson Piquet Junior's doing now?

The answer is that he's racing in one of the NASCAR support championships, the Camping World Truck Series. . . yes, pickup trucks! Looks like his little incident at Oulton a few years ago had more influence on his career path than we thought at the time.

For those not familiar with US pickup racing, the trucks are similar to the UK pickup trucks, but longer & fitted with a 5.8 litre V8 engine developing around 700 bhp.

As similar as a Mini is to a NASCAR Sprint Cup car as it's got a windscreen and four wheels

Dave,

Bill is not too concerned about the "impact" the OP incident may have had on young Piquet's current choice of series.

He is more worried about the effect that all those "walls" around the ovals might have on Piquet Jr's driving abilities!

(No money exchanged hands in getting us to understand Dave's original point. It just shows we are as warped as he is!)
