AlamakiRX should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Belgian/BRC RX 2012

Belgian 2012 RX dates been announced:

March 4th Belgian Champs
April 21st and 22nd Belgian Champs
May 20th Belgian and Dutch champs
July 8th Belgian Champs and MDA
August 4th and 5th ERC Maasmechelen
September 16th Belgian and Dutch Champs
October 7th Belgian and BRITISH champs!!

Thoughts, anyone travelling to watch?

British champs to go to Belguim in October?

See Motorsport news announces the Div1a cars will have a seperate class in the BRC in 2012 and with a sponsor which will ensure FREE entries for all cars in class. Easy way to convert Swifts, BMW Mini, Hot Hatch apparently.

Also remaining 2012 BRC dates will be announced before Christmas according to MSN, after R1 is on the Lydden site as March 24th and 25th and August 27th. Just need the Blyton, Mondello, Knockhill, Pembrey and Croft dates now.

why go to Belgian at all to keep cost down make it a more affordable championshipp
and of course a BRITISH championship that visits england ireland scotland and wales !

Putting Belgian towards end of year surely we will get the knockhill syndrome where people ellect not to go if they are out of contention in championship to save money

Good points... maybe having Belgium in there and at the end of the year, is a "clever" way of getting drivers to travel to all previous events inc Khill, Pem and Mond as they know there potential dropped score will be later in the year if they miss Belguim! Drivers in contention or wanting to chase positions will have to do all previous events to stand a chance.

Although having said all above I had heard that it might only be a 6 round championship, all rounds to count and only visiting each track once and only using Croft for GP..?

Just a thought!

Quite agree Mark, it seems to me that those who want to go to Belgium can as money is no object!! I would love to compete abroad but cannot afford to do so In this financialy constricted times any savings should and must be considered for the competitors as well as fans.

So are we assuming that Mallory is dead in the water as a rallycross venue?

Is the Belgian round any more expensive than going to Mondello or Knockhill? I suppose the answer to that may depend on your location to start with.

It appears the info on the Belgian's websites is incorrect and the BRC WILL NOT be going to Belguim.

Expect the BRC calender will be released soon!!

The final draft of the 2012 Motorsport Ireland date applications shows a Rallycross event on May 13th, organised by the County Kildare Motor Club. It's likely that this event will be the date for the British Rallycross round.

Not sure on Ireland

If the rumours are correct which ive heard at Croft and over the winter, then the BRC will only be a 6 event championship with 6 rounds to count and not crossing any water!!

Only visiting circuits like Croft, Lydden, Pembrey, Mallory and Knockhill and Maybe Blyton if circuit and loose still exists.

Sure time will tell!!

There's been quite a lot of work at Blyton including putting down some pretty smooth looking tarmac and transforming it into a "driving park". See their website for more:

http://www.blytonpark.co.uk/

From the website it doesn't look like they're planning on stopping rallycross so I can't see why the championship wouldn't go there (another night race?).

From a spectator point of view, a real shame if the connection built up over the past 3 years of Belgium/British championship is lost. Will miss seeing the Belgium supernationals at Lydden.

Ive not heard this, only a rumour going around that these HH cars will form part of the "New" Div1a class being introduced into the BRC next year.

That the regs for the class will be written in such a way that the class gets off the ground and that all current HH cars, plus cars like the BMW Mini's and Swifts can race in it also. Therefore racing with Div1a and then the idea is to upgrade these cars over time into full spec Div1a cars....

I just wonder where drivers will find the 10-15k minimum needed to turn one of these cars into even the basic spec Div1a class.

Time will tell.
