No liquid lunch, yesterday! For those who don't know, Bob's surname is Bull, so I thought it was worth at least a 6, Bob! And yours were no better!
Right next post, some FISCAR pics; what you've all been waiting for. |

Right, Race 8, the FISCAR really focused on team efforts and an interesting calculation to produce the team results. However, on the road, after a mighty tussle with Andrew Sharp in the DB2 (55), Brian Arculus (Elite -77) again won, by 12 seconds over the half hour race, which included compulsory pit stop.
1) The lead battle which also included Equipe GTS winner Mike Thorne in his Austin Healey 100/4 (30) in the early stages. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have a decent pic of Mike's car in this race but I think I included one for the earlier one 2) Our Deputy Chairman and Race Co-ordinator, Mark Campbell, with his very original and genuine ex Le Mans DB2 (32) which has been in the Campbell family for 55+ years! Check out its history on the FISCAR site 3) Jonathan Abecassis in his Austin Healey 100/4 (20) 4) Fabulously rare Galliers Pratt owned Frazer Nash Targa Florio (96) shared with Patrick Blakeney-Edwards. 5) The Austen Wells/Duncan Arthur's 100M (28) 6) Nigel Batchelor's Aston Martin DB2/4 (36) Last edited by John Turner; 7 Sep 2012 at 11:06. |

1) Ian Dalglish in his Elite (78)
2) Charles Bishop - AC Ace Bristol (9) 3) Tim Stamper's DB2/4 (39) 4) Peter Shaw - Alfa Romeo Guilietta Sprint (11) 5) Another active committee member - Jim Campbell in his DB2/4 (41) 6) John Hilberry's Lotus Elite (76) |

1) A great supporter of FISCAR and its predecessors, Andy Shepherd in AC Ace Bristol (7). We have a numnber of enthusiastic Ace owners registered with us but several are currently resolving mechanical maladies and wear!
2) The Harris/Knight A-H 100/4 (22) 3) Nicholas Ruddell in DB MkIII (46) 4) The wonderful ex George Abecassis Healey 100S (29) owned by Michael Darcey and superbly maintained by Paul Woolmer, and John Ruston's pre 356 Porsche (71) which was unbelievably rorty and driven with great verve by Gareth Burnett to 3rd on the road. 5) Paul De Havilland's Jaguar XK150 (68) 6) The lovely Lancia Aurelia (19) of Jason and Louise Kennedy. I will add a few more this afternoon, but off to prepare my (non liquid!) lunch! |

Suitably refreshed, or something, I post the last pics:-
1) Kevin Zwolinski and his XK140 (66). Kevin has become our in-car reporter for our races. 2) James Wilmot-Smith and Austin Healey 100M(24), 6) David Bennett's beautiful DB3S (48) and the 3 Chairman's cars in the race. These are obviously non compliant cars but fit in well alongside David's DB3S, and they may form the basis for some other FISCAR initiatives 3) Chris Guest's Cooper T21 MG 94) which is fully compliant with the series that Peter Morley and I are working on. Driven here by John Paul Mason 4) Chris Guest's Aston Martin DB2 powered RGS Atalanta (98) 5) David Cottingham's ex Belgian racing Ferrari 500TRC (99). A lovely car, a bit late at 1957, for the Chairman's class but since it is only a 2-litre is a welcome addition. |

And finally a pic I didn't take and the result of an initiative, I believe, by our club Secretary, Richard Bell. He noted the excellent representation of the Austin Healey marque, including the ex-Abecassis 100S and obtained C o C's agreement to have them line up in the pitlane during the lunch break, and this is one of a series that was taken by an Abecassis family member (Jonathan, can you confirm?). Jonathan's 100/4 (20) is appropriately next to his late Grandfather's old racer, and I also point to Mike Thorne's car on the other flank of the 100S because of my failure to show it in our race. A superb line up and we did manage to get a small pic and caption into Autosport:-

Alright John, I'll upgrade you to a 7, but I will give you a full 10 for the pictures. Proper cars and well done to FISCAR (any relation to Fiscari the Italian equivalent of John Turner?).
Keep up the extremely good work. Bob. |

The RGS Atalanta body mould was supposed to have been taken off a Frazer Nash Targa Florio, you can see a crude likeness.
Shame we can't get the DB2 closer to the Elite than 12 seconds after 1/2 hr Last edited by FastDB2s; 9 Sep 2012 at 12:35. |
