It ought to.
I think in the natural order of things it's not a big deal having multiple threads for what might be seen as minor points because the unpopular ones drop off the front page anyway. |

Seems like a perfectly good place and thread to have something posted in and then, whack, "how dare you dig up an old thread", Thread Closed! |

The feedback is that it is confusing. While the post dates are there these aren't obvious. What tends to happen is that the first bump posts are trying to work out what was going on in the early part of the thread.
I know you just meant it as a dig at the mods, but thanks for the constructive feedback. |

Just like everything kept together, but appreciate it is difficult, and I was pretty happy with the feedback and justification to be honest. |

Hopefully all the 'JV Comeback' threads have been buried in concrete, with oak stakes through them, under a garlic field somewhere.....

Schumacher to Williams! Do we go back that far?
So, it seems that opening a new thread is the thing to do if the last thread of its type has not been posted into into for a while, but links to that thread can still be made if relevant to the matter being discussed? |

That does seem reasonable. And if the links to the old thread prompt people to post there, the mods will make a decision as to how to handle, hopefully resulting in one open/live thread...
