davester should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Who will pilot the second GRM Volvo in 2015?

A proven race wining car.
A consistent front running and wining driver.

So what's missing at GRM Volvo?
A front running second driver?

Surely GRM and Volvo would be keen to capitalise on their proven pace with another capable driver to back up McLaughlin in 2015?

It must be of concern that if McLaughlin has a poor race, they have no front running backup to keep the Volvo on the TV screens.

So who could get the gig?

Premat did a good job trying to impress Garry again.
Had a few moments (those early laps against Reynolds could have cancelled out any positives he had showed speed-wise, had he locked wheels with the #55) but overall I thought he did a solid job. Shame about the pitlane block he was subjected to.

Bit biased, but I'd love to see what Canto could do for a season in that #34

Premat was quick. No doubt about it.

Can't believe anybody thinks Dean is worth another go, he's had plenty of bites at the cherry and he is one of those types who just can't cut it in sprint racing where he has to do the car setup himself. Ritter, Luff, Youlden all are in the same boat.

Garry would do well to have someone more experienced, or do we take the view that Scott can be team leader and Garry can get another (cheap) youngster in? If so, who do you get?

Anyway we do have a Silly Season thread for this.

Give Dahlgren another go in a car he now knows and will have raced on all the tracks.

I'm going for a Caruso return to the #34.

tbh I'd love to see it I rate Robbo and I think him and Scotty would make a great combo and both are 2 of the nicest blokes in pitlane to boot.

Strategically, Volvo needs a second team, so if one of their squads is off the boil, the whole polestar blue army isnt an alsoran.

That said, a good pilot in the second car will help GRM get a better pit allocation the next season...

Depends on how much Volvo, under Chinese owners now, want to go , They may want to drop a Chinese driver in or as you point out, a second team running iced vovos, If V8 supercars are serious, then support another team, LDM for example, give him back his 2nd Rec on the condition he switches to Volvo and use it as a development team, bit like Toro Rosso in F1 .

Would be good for intro to the Asian audience , and Swedish audience , Have a Eruo driver and Asian driver , may help with a revisit to Asia, which would be good for Aust and Asia trade dealings etc etc ,
maybe Wafflebutron has already had this idea?
who knows Alex Yoong
