http://www.iltalehti.fi/urheilu/2016...61094_ur.shtml Translation: Toni Vilander is being referred as "F1 commentator" (he is, point being that it is same as referring to all F1-rejects or hasbeens as ex-F1 drivers instead of just by their actual name). |

Finland has this image as a very motorsport crazy country, but it has always been really just F1 and rallying, probably not helping that the national level of circuits and series is bad. At least finally a modern circuit (Kymiring) is getting build.

The finish (edited) with FOX Sports comms:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQAjmRBMpVk The finish with ACO WEC paywall comms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMlL3od410I The finish with Eurosport UK comms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOieHfggLYc The finish with RLM comms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqL8ov6MaEk The finish with Japanese J-Sport comms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfbJjxW64YU The final corners in natural sounds + race control https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYv7ka8hlo8 I also dared to listen how the Finnish comms for Eurosport sounded at the end. I mean, generally they sound terribly bored and awkwardly lame at everything, even to the point where even Carlton Kirby seems like a racing genius enthusiast in comparison, but at least they read the situation correctly and acted properly. Good numbers as Silverstone and Spa had only half of last year......
Here's how the race compared on German ES: 2015 Start: 0,19 Mio (1,2% MA) Evening (21:00-02:00h): 0,15 Mio (1,1% MA) Night: (02:00-06:00h): 0,15 Mio (4,0% MA) Finish (10:00-15:00h): 0,29 Mio (2,7% MA) 2016 Start (15:00-21:00h): 0,16 Mio (0,9% MA) Evening (21:00-23:00h): 0,12 Mio (0,4% MA) Night(23:30-03:00h): 0,13 Mio (1,5% MA) Night (23:30-08:30h): 0,06 Mio (1,8% MA) Finish (09:00-15:00h): 0,20 Mio (1,7% MA) So, the peak was quite a lot down this year. |

Unless I'm mistake this will be the final English spoken commentary of the finish that was broadcasted, in addition to Eurosport/FOX/ACO-WEC/RLM:
The finish with Quest TV UK comms https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZugEPf9lcOA That tube channel also has their other limited live coverage from the race if you browse. |

Anyone saw the Channel 4 (extremely brief) highlights already?
The description: FIA World Endurance Championship, The 24 Hours of Le Mans. Lee McKenzie and John Hindhaugh present action from the third round of the season at Circuit de la Sarthe, where the 84th staging of the race took place. 30 Minutes. |

Okay guys, I need some help...just got home from our trip...
Sat down to watch the race and the recorder didn't record a thing, despite me verifying 3 times that it was set to record. I knew that I had missed the ending, due to Fox changing it from Fox1 to Fox2, but had all the others covered... My neighbor just came by and told me we had a power outage that weekend, possibly due to a local fire, so I missed it all. I see that you know who has the first 5+ hours posted, but can't find anymore. I am a bit jet lagged now, but could someone point me in the right direction? |

I know the world's moved on, but without Motors I wonder how many of us would have developed such a high interest in sportscars? Certainly for me it was the happy accident of stumbling across their coverage of the Monza 1,000km that rekindled my serious interest - there is thus a bit of wistfulness at them fading away. Sic transit and all that. |

Most of us already do with the live.fiawec.com page, Apple TV's, HBO, Amazon and so on. But sad indeed, although I never had it in here in Denmark. |

It's back on Sky now. I hope they get to carry on. It's a good channel.

TBH I think that BT Sport is the main reason, it's taken most of the motorsports from there and made it a cheaper package than Sky

The youtube channel slipstreamlms has all of the onboards from the race. Including the Fords. Its great just having that in the background with the engine noise.
Consistent things I noticed from it: Ford most certainly had the horsepower straight-away speed on the other GTE cars. LMP2 cars were not that much quicker in a straight line over the Fords. Where the LMP2 cars really rocketed away from any GTE car was in the fast corners. The Porsche curves and the essess before the mulsanne straight. |

Some users already noticed that the Toyota onboard cameras keep failing. In this article Anthony Davidson says the driver can switch the WEC cameras off. Hmm...
