If i had an LMP2 car i'd 100% be trying for an entry into WEC super season rather than ELMS. 2 guaranteed LM24 starts in 18 / 19, would probably help to sell to funded drivers, as opposed to the ELMS lottery. Of course, if GTE-AM was sent to ELMS only, and Factory GTE PRO didn't ask for 4 entries it would help free up LM24 entries to some who have committed to a Le Mans Prototype car.

This 5 race 2018 season is certainly freeing people up to do other things.
Nicki Thiim is doing WEC, Blancpain Endurance and British GT. Busy boy. |

The WEC/Le Mans/ELMS entry list day is coming up in early February. What is the exact day of it?
Do you think it is one of the most anticipated days of the year? That day for sportscars is like the NFL draft, or the World Cup soccer draw, or the Champions League draw, ncaa college basketball tournament reveal. |

Beyond just teams I guess the other things to look forward to are whether there's G56 (at least it's not been officially denied quite yet), the proto-GT split percentage, and whether we get 10 full reserves again as we should, after last year only saw pitiful 2 Just hope the proceeding itself would be executed less embarrassingly than last year, I mean the social media sections were more cringe worthy than anything before IIRC I still wonder how the 2019 conference will look like considering that we will already know most of the field at that point |

Not sure if it's a good fit here (I did post this also in the Le Mans section), but Fox and Fox Sports has elected to not renew coverage for LM and the WEC this year. North American coverage it TBA.

Pretty good coordination for Ford, AMR, AF Corse, and Porsche GT teams to be at this Abu Dahbi test together. BMW must feel like they are being left out. This test is something I would liked to have seen. A GTE Pro shootout with just them on the track only should have been tempting for them to have amongst themselves.

Does anyone see a point of the WEC running a stand alone, GTE-Am class this year with 3-5 entries in it? I think they should just think about folding GTE-Pro & GTE-Am into a single class, especially when considering we are looking a strong numbers in P1, P2, and GTE-Pro.

It is not uncommon for competing teams to test together at the same time. Sharing learned information is a little less frequent...

What do you think could be the numbers of cars in LMP1?
I mean, will Toyota get the No. 1 on the ex 8 ? |

That's kinda how Audi got numbers 1 and 2 for Le Mans in 2012. I think that priority is championship, LM winner, and runners up.

Actually Toyota didn't win neither le mans nor WEC last season, so why should they allowed to use #1 and #2 ? If toyota will decide to follow traditions, will be using #7 and #8 |
