Just a few years ago, that would have had a P1 flying into the fence
Gonzo needs a good talking to (to say the least)- looks like he started moving, then stopped, then moved again without looking by which point the Toyota was already committed Looking at the timing screen, wouldn't mind the race playing out like this though (spoiler - it won't) |

I'm thinking that Toyota may want to avoid the Ford Chicanes now.
This is why we shouldn't automatically write off Rebellion or SMP, though the odds are in Toyota's favor in terms of sheer speed. If if happens during practice, it can happen in the race. Especially with the performance gains that Rebellion and SMP have made if they can hold together. And if this is the pattern, I don't think that the distance record will be in jeopardy this year, even if the race is dry. Too many FCYs and Slow Zones are likely to happen if this keeps up. |

Both the Toyota and Dragonspeed seem to be fixed at least.

But these aren't rookies having spins and collisions, though.

Really don't understand why RLM cant seem to work out where the Ford went off, not even any working cameras before the Corvette curve.

Toyota might be holding back for tomorrow. Last I checked, it's only supposed to rain in the morning, then be dry from afternoon though Sunday.

I suspect we’ve just seen Toyota race pace versus privateer qualifying pace.

Some questionable driving going on that session. Imo it seems like the driving standards have fell off in the recent years.

Preliminary (after 1st of 3 sessions) qualifying results here:
http://fiawec.alkamelsystems.com/Res...actice%201.PDF Great time by the 17 SMP. ByKolles is 1.5 seconds up on the P2's isn't bad either. Dragonspeed P1 is only 6 tenths behind the #8 Toyota??????? In P2 Dragonspeed is top of the chart, but a UA Ligier is in 3rd place has to be seen as a victory for them. In GTPro we have all 4 Porsches in the top 6, and in Am, Porsche are 1-3 plus #7. Oh and Ford is tops in Pro right now. |

Beside the temporary presence of Toyota in the mix, the rest of the P1 cars looks very tight on the time list. SMP and Rebellion seem to have more mature cars with DragonSpeed showing only bits of true speed. ByKolles is ByKolles, they were always slow, but Dillmann made a comment about the lack of straight speed ("only" 328 km/h, while 334 with the Nissan engine last year).
