For sure there are series like that, but not on World Championship (or Cup) level and not on Eurosport...

There are not news about Cupra (a part that Comtoyou Racing won't use Cupra in 2020 in wtcr) and about Audi. Well once again Ribeiro showed all his talent to destroy a serie! It was not easy to repeat the "amazing" results that he got with WTCC - TC1 Cars and yet he was able to destroy WTCR series in less time than WTCC. |

We can't blame all on Ribeiro this time. It is not his fault the stupidity of the Compensation Weights, and the profound dismay of the Technical Scrutineering and the amazement Stewards decisions.

It's his fault idiot ideas like Joker Laps. It's his fault to say that wtcr would not allow official manufacture while at the end all manufactures hyudai, link, audi, vw, honda, cupra gave support more or less to the teams. So why he didn't do like in firsts years of wtcc? A general Driver Standing and a Privater Standing where could partecipate all drivers without a factory support plus a manufacture standing. It's his fault how was made the calendar. 3 city circuits with high probability of crash and as consequence big costs to repair damage and 4 rounds on 10 made in Asia are absolutely too much for a world cup who pretend to be just for privaters. It's his fault that he didn't want to race together with other tcr series. About BOP it was a good idea at the begin then it became something ridiculous. At each round there was different weight, different power %, different ride height. It would have been more easier to give a compensation weight for the top 5 drivers in each race (40kg - 30 - 20 - 15 - 10). |

It also doesn’t help that Eurosport have done a poor job at marketing the series and that it became so difficult to follow with a lack of live races and other sports broadcasted above it, though that is a problem faced by the majority of TCR series nowadays...I do wonder what this could have become under Lotti’s direction. Though the costs were higher in the Lotti S2000 era, there’s no disputing that they were the best touring car years of this century. |

Well, if the Cup goes under 18 entries this season, then it will be dead by 2021.

Extended entry deadline and coronavirus thrown in there as an excuse for good measure. Seems a little desperate, I wish them all the best.

Let's hope they get the entries in, as this series still has more to come

Sad to see Huff go, he deserves better than that. I still remember these years when he was racing Lacetti and Cruze. Good times for WTCC.

He has done brilliantly in this series. He only won it once, but had been in contention many times. A truly great tin top driver. I wonder where Huff will go now. Another TCR series? Don’t see why not. BTCC? He has recent experience in it, so you never know. I’m sure if he is not stopping he will find a series somewhere, he’s that good

If WTCR can't put together a decent grid using the cheap TCR cars, and these new cost saving measures, then theres a problem with the format. No more blaming the choice of car.
Too many street circuits, paired with an attempt to live up to how the N24 looks on the Nordschleife, then some really average tracks to infill. TCR Europe managed to make some interesting racing with TCR cars, as do quite a few series around the world, so why cant WTCR, if it isnt down to the decisions made by the organisers? |

I don't think it depends on the choice of tracks, its all down to Manufacturers, who are not happy with BoP, or in general with fuel driven racecars. 2019 was not a bad year in terms of racing. So regulations/Tracks/etc. should be ok. But climate for cars is changing very heavily. |

Münnich confirmed that they will run all 4 Hondas.
https://www.touringcartimes.com/2020...ion-four-cars/ As you might already know, the official preseason test and season presentation was cancelled in Aragon, and will take place on the week of the season opener, probably on the Hungaroring. This also means, that teams don't really have to rush with their announcements. Hyundai wanted to unveil their 2020 plans tomorrow, at the Geneva Autoshow, but that was cancelled due to the coronavirus, so another question up in the air. |
