King Charles III by a country mile.
Boost Mobile are going to stump up the cash for a wildcard entry for his highness! |

Is just me, or are we having a very low profile Bathurst 1000 this year?
Seems to be very quiet on all media fronts, some TV add with Cathy Freeman, Shane Warne fading into Brock winning Bathurst. Didn’t realise Cathy or Shane had that much impact on Bathurst! |

The people who know it's on, know it's on.
The rest will watch the start and wait for crashes. Surely the motorsport fans that hang around here don't need a reminder that Bathurst is just around the corner... The Punters will be there for the first time since 2018. |

The group that I associate with since 1969 for the Bathurst race has dwindled down to 8 persons from about 20+ in 2000, this year there are just two of us, the rest are on a Crusie as they have totally lost interest in the race and my interest has been waning for quite a few years, maybe the new cars next season will stir the interest again.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm always excited the week before flag fall, its Bathurst, its the 1000, it's the most important race of the year, regardless of wants running, bring it on, four days glued to the TV

It seems all a bit ho hum these days but I watched it grow into a fabulous race from nothing so my view is very biased and I admit it. The days of the internationals bringing out their cars and teams to race will never be surpassed in my view and I would rather watch a 12 hour race than the traditional October race. If it was logistically possible running both races on the same weekend might be a good idea.

I love Mt Pan.
I grew up in the moffat brock years and the hf1000 was my christmas,, I hung on every second. (thus my user name and pic) Now the whodahell 1000 is something I watch yeh sure. But the 12 and 6 hours are the big events, the Bathurst international sounds fun. Sad that |

Long range forecast from the Bureau of Climate Change, shows a wet week ahead on the eastern seaboard.
A little bit of visible moisture should and could make practice and qualifying interesting. |

Weatherzone are predicting 40-80m of rain on Saturday, 10-15mm on Sunday!
Will Jack Smith claim pole position for BJR? My EPG, shows Channel 7 on Friday having coverage from 9am. |

The 24/7 Bathurst Channel on Foxtel is up and running now right through.
Channel 503. Currently playing "Top 10 races"... "paying homage to the golden races over the year with a Top 10 of the most dramatic stories..." (their words not mine) That is on until 6:30pm when they have an hour Bathurst preview show. etc.etc. |

Not necessarily... there are quite a few blokes in the 2nd seat without lots of actual racing miles at all this year.. and some in the lead seat of the wildcards too...
The Matt Chahda Motorsportpackage looks impressive, big name branding partner (that isnt the same Caltex group as the one that was on the 888 cars, and Mr Bond's before them) plus borrowing WAU's second transporter to make an impact. Interesting they have aspirations to move up to the main game... |

Given the predicted rain, what chance the safety car to finish inside top 10!
Am expecting a large number of ..." safety car scrambled ".. Hope i am wrong and the rain just mixes it up and someone different wins |

I think given the amount of rain predicted for Saturday the grid could be really jumbled up.

Im more thinking with the current allocation of 5 sets of wets for the week per car, and every day forecast to be wet, I hope Dunlop has produced an extra few sets of wets per car, for when the powers that be realise it makes sense to be substituting extra wets in place of some of the 13 sets of slicks per car that perhaps wont even see a car, by all (weather forecast) accounts.

Hopefully Matt Chadra motorsports keeps a low profile over the weekend and get themselves a good result.
The car looks very impressive. Whats the bet Mr Murphy and Mr Stanway have both said f3ck, why did we say yes to this crazy idea! |
