Petit Le Mans 2024

It's time to start a new thread for the 2024 Petit.

Just a reminder to those who have reserved RV spots. The deadline to pay for your spot this year is May 24, 2024 @ 11:59 PM EST. Don't forget or you'll lose your spot at the front of the line for your spot.

My spot is paid for and waiting for me!

Last I checked the waiting list for reserved RV is closed with 300 people on the list. No none reserved RV spots are available anymore. None reserved tent camping is still available along with general entry tickets, parking passes and podium club packages.

150 days till race day.

I keep getting people trying to schedule things in the fall and asking if i"m available. I'm worried something is going to come up and try to prevent my trip.

Also, the only thing i have on my calendar for 2025 so far is Petit!

RX7Mandingo should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Already got my spot booked and paid for.

I know I haven't met any of yall and haveonly been around here sparingly, but I'd love to get a concrete get together thing for this year. Was contemplating hosting a sausage dog cookoff/competition over by my site by turn 5 on Friday after the Pilot Cup race. Free to enter and winner gets a free bet and bragging rights. Anyone else interested?

I was looking for your camp last year but couldn't find the Mazda flags you were talking about. I still have a flag waiting for you.

Need your definition of a "sausage dog" before I commit.

Second on a formal gathering at the Petit this year. I don't like to just invade someone's camp unannounced.

V

Aww man if you got a name to reference me by you're always welcome, just usually when I'm at the track I get so excited and distracted I rarely look at my phone.

As for sausage dog definition..... I'd think meat in tune form in a bun. Condiments and toppings are whatever. I already got ideas in my head.
This year for race day I'm plotting ribs and crab legs.

Well, I make my own beer, so that's always an option. What kind of beers do you like?

That's wild I homebrew to, I've thought about making a batch for PlM but with the no glass rules didn't want to press my luck.

I typically drink lagers, but aren't opposed to a brown ale as long as it isn't too heavy. I like lighter stuff like Heineken, Red Stripe, Modello, etc for all day events since they aren't too heavy and I don't feel weighed down

OK, reserved RV paid for and now the 7 day golf cart rental is complete. Next month I'll be paying for the 4 day tickets and the golf cart pass. Spreading this out over a few months. Total cost will be $1,245.00 for two people but we will be living in luxury.

134 Days till race day!

OK, all the talk about the 24 hours of Le Mans has got me even more excited about the Petit. Today I paid up for all of my tickets and golf cart pass. Will be watching the 24 hours next weekend on the Motor Trend Channel.

Who's planning on going this year to the Petit? Hoping for a big crowd again.

126 Days and counting!

I'll be there with my usual group of 4, though it looks like I'll have 2 or 5 first timers possibility coming along as well. Already getting my menu planned and things organized

Will be looking forward to meeting some of you guys this year. The more the merrier. Planning a short trip in a couple of weeks to sort things out on the motorhome. The wife and I will be at the Petit on the Tuesday before the race to start things off. Would like to get there as close to 8:00am as possible to set up camp before the rest of the crowd begins to pour in.

Anyone else plan on coming this year?

Has anyone ever tried walking into the track before it "officially" opens on Wednesday morning?
Me and my crew of degenerates are driving up from Jacksonville and estimated ETA is between 6 and 7. I was thinking of walking to our spot before they start letting people drive in to make sure I get a good one.

They will stop you at the gate unless you have a reserved RV pass or team credentials trying to get in earlier than Wed when the gates open. Otherwise everyone would send one guy in to stake out space early. And then we end up with ****ed off security stomping around trying to find all the early gate crashers, it's happened before and those of us with reserved RV spots hate them starting the week frustrated.

Last year I noticed a lot more people setting up spots on Tues that were not reserved. I was under the impression that nobody could setup outside of their reserved RV spot until Wednesday morning. Makes it really hard to not break the rules when your traditional spot gets bogarted early. I have always setup our EZ-UP tent on the inside of turn 10A/B on Wednesday morning at around 8:00am. Last year there were already 2 tents setup on Tues in that spot.

People who have reserved RVs or other reserved spots may set things up especially in T10 if they have the time.

I guess I'll be setting up as soon as I arrive on Tuesday. Order of priority on Tuesday will be park the RV (Reserved spot), dive down to turn 10 and setup the EZ-UP, drive back to RV and setup camp. I'll be trying to get to the track, as close to 8:00am on Tuesday, as possible.

That's the problem I'm getting. I got to our usual spot by the turn 5 bathrooms at like 820 Wednesday morning and there were at least 10 full tent sites already at to, like people still asleep in their tent
