I can't pass an oppertunity to talk about my cars: 84 Toyota cressida, yes its anold mans car but I'm an old man. 186k mi addco sway bars ft&r, tokico dampers and 14x7 supra rims(just installed valve seals W/O head on) I drive it while I work on my 89 supra turbo W/racing hart C5 3pc, up to about 350 HP and 350lbs less weight. Iknow what ur thinking " Ive seen these guys before shined up, drives slow tries to look cool. Nope, people in Malibu Canyon can tell you that isn't so. I have written verifcation from a gentleman in a clourfully lighted car.

My wife says I have a problem. I didn't think so until I actually thought about this list. Maybe she's right but I rarely sell a car once I buy it. Sorry but here goes in age order:
'59 Morgan +4 (my favorite) '66 Ford F-10 Pickup (hauls yard trash) '73 Datsun 240Z (weekend racer) '86 BMW 325es (mostly for the kids) '88 BMW 635csi (road tripper) '91 Isuzu Trooper (camping car) '95 Jaguar XJS (rarely used but very beautiful IMO) '98 Subaru Outback (daily driver 1) '02 Subaru Outback (daily driver 2) I guess there's worse sicknesses to have and besides they all get driven quite regularly except the Jag which sees the road 4-5 times a year. |

The name: Flatspot doesn't sound familiar, but I must know you. My real name is Norman Richardson, I was one of the original SCCA members in SLC, raced at the old air port #2 a few times and at SL raceway and owned a repair shop. The vintage of your cars would indicate your not too far off my age group.

IMHO it is one of the most beautiful cars on the road but it's heavy, slow, and the brakes are not worthy when you have to bring it down from speed in a hurry.
The biggest reason of all however is that so far it has cost an average of about$.30 US per mile to keep on the road in repair bills alone. The damn thing breaks sitting in the garage and its worse if you actually drive it. It only has 15,000 miles on it and I have spent over $5,000 in repairs. Other than those minor details it's awesome. |
