I won't believe that yet because I never saw the headline "JV fires Bouillon". Only you have even mentioned Bouillon as a BAR test driver. It might be true, but I've not heard it anywhere else.
As for JV putting his personal wants above the needs of the team, that is only part-true. Fukuda, Davidson and Manning were all also test drivers and I don't think Jacques named or fired them all. A team that wouldn't exist without Jacques. "They told me that if I didn't sign, there would be no team..." He put his career on jeopardy, yet everything in the world is Jacques' fault. But that's F1, not CART. The reality is that PK Racing and Lemarie are a new entry for CART. After 6 races, then we'll say if he is a good driver or a bad driver. |

Craig Pollock didn't have to hire Jacques' buddy, unless Jacques is bankrolling the team ... and just because he is a friend of Jacques doesn't mean he's a loser.
And I did say that you either have to have money OR talent. Since Memo has neither, he's doomed. I should probably have added "or connections" -- which he does not appear to have either. So he fails on three accounts: he has insufficient talent; he cannot raise any money; and he made/makes the wrong friends. There's not a profession on earth you can succeed in if you lack all of these qualities. |

No he's a loser because he's a loser. The only reason a driver of that level of ineptitude who doesnt bring any money to the team is in the seat, is because of the Pollock/Villeneuve connection.
Jordi, from various Atlas articles Thursday July 16, 1998 The new BAR team have announced their first driver of the line-up: Jean Christophe Boullion. Craig Pollock stated: "Jean-Christophe is recognised as one of the top test drivers in Formula One and has enormous experience in testing F1 cars, as well as possessing a solid understanding of the engine packaging. I am delighted to have him in our set-up." Tuesday September 29th, 1998 ...another new memeber of F1 was the BAR team who is testing a revised 1998 Tyrrell with its official test driver Boullion. The team judged the programme to be very productive and on Thursday morning Boullion was allowed to try for a fast time equipped with a new set of option tyres and a fresh engine.
