Marshalling Racing Schools

I believe that Racing Schools around the UK use more experienced Marshalls at their racing schools/track days.
It is something I have only ever heard mentioned once, and with the constant drive to increase the numbers of marshalls, I am suprised this hasn't been mentioned before.

Is this true? Does anyone here do it?

Not always the case-yes they do use "marshals" but not that many actually marshal at race meetings (or that was the case a few years ago). Without starting something...I doubt if many are "race wise" though I know that (a circuit not far from Swanley, Kent) do have a few that do work as "proper" marshals which in my view should always be the case as fully trained marshals are invaluable at such events...and they get payed!

Oulton Park (Octogon) has a regular crew of bmmc marshals who are "employed" by them for their midweek stuff/testing etc.
These are the same marshals who will be trackside at a proper racing event.
I believe the pay is around £40 per day and you would need to contact the circuit direct

At the "track near swanley" there is a half and half thing going on with the marshals. Some are PROPER marshals most are just trained once a year by the track owners.

As for race school, the Instructors are also used as marshals.
