2004 LMP Performance

From what is known about the 2004 LMPs, less downforce, more drag, more power, is it expected that the new cars (at least initially), will be slower on the tighter tracks such as Sebring but maybe quicker on the low downforce fast tracks such as Le Mans.

The 2003 power cut has not affected the cars at the likes of Sebring but seems to have affected the cars more on the power circuits such as Le Mans.

The 2004 cars should be about the same speed. Designers will just have to design in more downforce given the restrictions in the chassis rules. The more downforce/drag will be made up for with slightly more powerful motors. I expect the downforce & top speed figures will be about the same as they are for current cars. They'll be safer though.
